NHPP Software Reliability Growth Models

2021
This chapter discusses reliability models for the software failure phenomenon based on a non-homogeneous Poisson process (NHPP). Few among the many existing models based on NHPP are discussed, also numerical examples are included to illustrate the results.

Reliability evaluation using NHPP models

Proceedings. 1991 International Symposium on Software Reliability Engineering, 2002
Many papers have been written on the theory of software reliability, and as many specific models described for evaluating it. Recent years have seen a trend toward a more global approach, though. The authors show how the non homogeneous Poisson process (NHPP) approach can be applied to the industrial world, The French space agency (CNES) has used this ...

On the log-power NHPP software reliability model

[1992] Proceedings Third International Symposium on Software Reliability Engineering, 2003
A simple software reliability model, the log-power nonhomogeneous Poisson process (NHPP) model, is studied. The log-power NHPP model has several interesting properties, such as simple graphical interpretations and simple forms of the maximum likelihood estimates for the parameters.

NHPP models for categorized software defects

Applied Stochastic Models in Business and Industry, 2005
AbstractWe develop NHPP models to characterize categorized event data, with application to modelling the discovery process for categorized software defects. Conditioning on the total number of defects, multivariate models are proposed for modelling the defects by type.

Scale and Space Inference of NHPP Intensities

SSRN Electronic Journal, 2016
In this paper we develop the graphical exploratory tool Sizer Map for the intensity function of a nonhomogeneous Poisson process. SiZer Map is defined considering nonparametric local linear kernel estimators for the intensity function and its first derivative, where the bandwidth parameter is the viewing scale and the considered time interval is the ...

Reliability modeling of successive release of software using NHPP

2015 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management (IEEM), 2015
This paper presents an effective reliability model for multi-release open source software (OSS), which derived based on software lifecycle development process (SDLC) proposed by Jorgensen [1]. Most of OSS reliability models do not consider the unique characteristic of OSS in the model.

NHPP Model and ANP for OSS Reliability Analysis

2016
In this chapter, in order to consider the effect of each software component on the reliability of an entire system in a distributed development environment, we apply the ANP (Analytic Network Process) which is a popular decision-making method. Moreover, we propose a method of reliability assessment based on the SRGM incorporating the interaction among ...

An NHPP-Based SRGM with Time Dependent Growth Process

2021 6th International Conference on Signal Processing, Computing and Control (ISPCC), 2021
The mathematical model that is used to forecast how software reliability will improve over time when errors are identified and resolved, known as a “Software Reliability Growth Model” or in short SRGM. These models assist the management in determining how much time and effort should be dedicated to testing.

NHPP APPLIED TO THE REPAIR WARRANTY OF AN INDUSTRIAL ASSET

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 2012
Abstract This paper seeks to address the decision process involved in setting a warranty length for a product after successive repairs are performed. The underlying failure model used is a Poisson process with hazard rate determined by a Weibull distribution, whereby successive repairs do not renew the lifetime distribution.
