Laser powder bed fusion of a Cu-Ni-Al alloy using the compositional grading approach

open access: yes, 2023
Using a modified laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) technique, a compositionally graded Cu-Ni alloy was fabricated. Through microstructural and mechanical characterization on the samples extracted from it, the addition of 7.6 wt.% Ni to Cu is identified as ...

Near‐Atomic Investigation on the Elemental Redistribution During Coprecipitation of Nano‐Sized Kappa‐Type and B2 Precipitates in an Al‐Alloyed Lightweight Steel

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
Elemental redistribution during coprecipitation of kappa (κ)‐type and B2 precipitates in an Al‐alloyed lightweight steel is revealed by atom probe tomography (APT) and density functional theory (DFT). Fe and Ni redistribution promotes the evolution of B2 phase from NiAl‐type toward FeAl‐type and improves the stability of κ and B2 phases during ...

Climate conditions on the South‐Iberian Palaeomargin during the latest Pliensbachian to early Toarcian: A mineralogical and geochemical study from hemipelagic deposits

open access: yesSedimentology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The integrated analysis of lithofacies, mineralogy and geochemistry of the hemipelagic marine succession exposed in La Cerradura section (South‐Iberian Palaeomargin) provides new information to characterise the palaeoenvironmental conditions during the latest Pliensbachian to early Toarcian, including the Jenkyns Event.

Facile synthesis of ordered mesoporous Ni-Zr-Al catalysts with high hydrothermal stability for CO methanation

open access: yes, 2015
For supported nickel catalysts used for catalytic reactions with presence of water vapor, it is a great challenge to let them have high resistance to sintering, coking as well as water vapor simultaneously.

KINETICS OF COMBUSTION IN THE LAYERED Ni-Al SYSTEM

open access: yesCombustion Science and Technology, 2001
Theoretical analysis and experimental results on the combustion in the Ni-Al layered system are presented. Combustion wave temperature and velocity were measured and microstructural and compositional determinations were made. The latter were made on products of complete combustion and on quenched samples using metallographic and electron microprobe ...

AI‐Driven Precision Annealing for High Performance Fe‐Based Amorphous Alloys

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, Volume 9, Issue 4, July 2026.
The four stages of the research process are as follows: First, data is collected and a database is constructed. This is followed by feature selection and analysis, then the establishment of machine learning models, and finally formulation design and preparation.

Martensitic and Related Transformations in Ni-Al Alloys [PDF]

open access: yesLe Journal de Physique IV, 1995
The present paper gives a review of results of recent studies investigating the fundamentals of the martensitic and related phase transformations in Ni-Al. For the former case, the emphasis will be on the microstructure of martensite plates. The latter include the metastable Ni2Al w-like and stable Ni5Al3 bainitic phases. These phases will be discussed

Silver‐Alloyed Wide‐Bandgap (Ag,Cu)(In,Ga)S2 Thin‐Film Solar Cells With 15.5% Efficiency

open access: yesProgress in Photovoltaics: Research and Applications, Volume 34, Issue 7, Page 942-956, July 2026.
This study reports improvements in compositional homogeneity, microstructure, enhanced radiative recombination, and extended carrier lifetime of CIGS absorber via Ag incorporation. The optimal Ag‐alloyed CIGS solar cells achieve 15.5% PCE and 948 mV VOC, competing with the VOC of the Ag‐free reference sample from the same batch.

High-throughput Screening of Alloy Oxidation Across Al-Fe-Ni and Al-Fe-Ni-Cr Composition Space

open access: yes, 2018
The high-temperature oxidation of multicomponent metal alloys involves complex kinetic processes that are not fully understood for many systems. As a result, prospective alloy compositions must typically be screened experimentally during the design of ...
