Influence of a Ni, Cu and Cd on the number of filamentous fungi in soil with poplar sprout clones M1, PE19/66 and B229

open access: yesZaštita Materijala, 2015
For more than three hundred years heavy metals in addition to pesticides in the last fifty years, represent quantitatively, the most widespread pollutants in the environment.

Heegaard Floer homology and fibred 3--manifolds [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Given a closed 3--manifold $Y$, we show that the Heegaard Floer homology determines whether $Y$ fibres over the circle with a fibre of negative Euler characteristic.

Magnetic‐Field Induced Charge Accumulation in Scalable Magnetoelectric PVDF‐TrFE/Ni Composite Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, Volume 4, Issue 6, June 2025.
This study reports strong magnetoelectric effects in PVDF‐TrFE/Ni bilayer composites. Direct measurements of charge accumulation reveal high induced polarization, corresponding to open circuit voltages of 75 mV. Finite element simulations are in good agreement with experiments and demonstrate device scalability.

Why Ni$_3$Al is an itinerant ferromagnet but Ni$_3$Ga is not

open access: yes, 2003
Ni$_3$Al and Ni$_3$Ga are closely related materials on opposite sides of a ferromagnetic quantum critical point. The Stoner factor of Ni is virtually the same in both compounds and the density of states is larger in Ni$_3$Ga.

Enhanced Recovery of Valuable Materials from Spent Lithium‐Ion Secondary Batteries Using Organic Acids as Leaching and Precipitating Agents

open access: yesChemistrySelect, Volume 9, Issue 36, September 25, 2024.
Cathode active materials were separated from the Al foil at 400°C, and oxalates of Mn, Co, and Ni were obtained at a ratio of 1.5:1.0:2.5 by precipitation with oxalic acid after metal leaching with lactic acid. Abstract In this study, the cathode active material was first separated from the aluminum foil through a heat treatment at 500 °C.

Adsorption of Nickel and Chromium From Aqueous Solutions Using Copper Oxide Nanoparticles: Adsorption Isotherms, Kinetic Modeling, and Thermodynamic Studies [PDF]

open access: yesAvicenna Journal of Environmental Health Engineering, 2019
The research was conducted with an aim to assess the efficiency of copper oxide nanoparticles as an adsorbent to remove Ni and Cr. The effect of pH, adsorbent dosage, contact time, initial concentration of metals (Ni and Cr) on the adsorption rate was ...

Reaction mechanism and kinetics for CO₂ reduction on nickel single atom catalysts from quantum mechanics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Experiments have shown that graphene-supported Ni-single atom catalysts (Ni-SACs) provide a promising strategy for the electrochemical reduction of CO₂ to CO, but the nature of the Ni sites (Ni-N₂C₂, Ni-N₃C₁, Ni-N₄) in Ni-SACs has not been determined ...

Influence of Ni and Be elements on Al‐Mg‐Si alloys in different states

open access: yesElectrical Materials and Applications, Volume 1, Issue 3-4, September-December 2024.
Ni and Be elements have different effects on the properties and microstructure of Al‐Mg‐Si alloys in different states (as‐cast, extruded, and ageing). Abstract To improve the comprehensive performance of Al‐Mg‐Si alloy conductors in overhead power lines, enhance the energy‐saving and emission‐reduction efficiency of transmission links, and reduce line ...

Nickel in the waters of Lake Teletskoye tributaries (the results of long-term studies)

open access: yesТрансформация экосистем
Ecological and biogeochemical studies carried out in the Lake Teletskoye basin in 2016–2021 showed that the total nickel content in the waters of the lake’s tributaries ranged from 0.12 to 4.6 μg/dm3, an average of 1.8 ± 0.1 μg/dm3.
