Effects of thiocyanate on Ni(Hg)/Ni(II) and Ni/Ni(II) electrode reactions
Journal of Electroanalytical Chemistry and Interfacial Electrochemistry, 1974Summary Chronopotentiometric and stationary polarization measurements have been performed on mercury, nickel, and platinum electrodes in aqueous solutions of x M NiCl2+y M KSCN+(1−2x−y) M KCl at 25°C. Reaction products have been studied by electrochemical, radio-tracer, electron-microprobe, and X-ray diffraction techniques.

A dinuclear Ni(II) complex involving tetrathiafulvalene (TTF) radicals as ligands has been prepared and characterized, [Ni2(mu-Cl)2(L*+)2(I3)4(I2)3.(H2O)2.(C4H8O)3 (1), L = 4,5-bis(2-pyridylmethylsulfanyl)-4',5'-ethylenedithiotetrathiafulvalene. There are two types of intramolecular magnetic exchange interactions, namely one ferromagnetic Ni(II)-Ni(II)

Abstract Peroxydisulfate (PDS) activation has attracted much attention for the treatment of drinking water systems. In this work, Ni-doped MgAl layered double hydroxides (Ni-LDHs, Ni:Mg = 1:100 to 1:1, molar ratio) were prepared for the activation of PDS via intercalation.

The present work investigates the adsorptive interactions of Ni(II) ions with kaolinite, montmorillonite, and their poly(oxo zirconium) and tetrabutylammonium derivatives in aqueous medium. Batch adsorption studies were carried out with various Ni(II) concentrations, amount of clay adsorbents, pH, agitation time and temperature.

Ni(II) and Zn(II) perthiocarboxylates
Journal of Inorganic and Nuclear Chemistry, 1971Abstract The synthesis by Bruni and Levi, modified by Fackler and Coucouvanis, from aldehydes and ammonium polysulfide has been extended to aliphatic aldehydes, and perthiopivalate (CH 3 ) 3 CCSSS − has been prepared. This ligand forms 1:2 Zn(II) and Ni(II) complexes, analogous to the already known complex perthiobenzoates and perthio- p -toluates.

Ferromagnetic NiII Discs [PDF]
AbstractA family of planar disc‐like hexa‐, octa‐ and decametallic NiII complexes exhibit dominant ferromagnetic exchange. The deca‐ and octametallic clusters [NiII10(tmp)2(N3)8(acac)6(MeOH)6] (1, H3tmp=1,1,1‐tris(hydroxymethyl)propane; acac=acetylacetonate) and [NiII8(thme)2(O2CPh)4(Cl)6(MeCN)6(H2O)2] (2, H3thme=1,1,1‐tris(hydroxymethyl)ethane ...

The binding of Mg(II) and Ni(II) to synthetic polynucleotides
Biophysical Chemistry, 1987Equilibria and kinetics of the interactions of Mg2+ and Ni2+ with poly(U), poly(C) and poly(I) have been investigated at 25 degrees C, an ionic strength of 0.1 M, and pH 7.0 or 6.0. Analogous studies involving poly(A) were reported earlier. All binding equilibria were studied by means of the (usually small) absorbance changes in the ultraviolet range ...

Complexation of Ni(II) by Dimethylglyoxime for Rapid Removal and Monitoring of Ni(II) in Water
Mine Water and the Environment, 2016The complexation of Ni(II) with dimethylglyoxime (DMG) entrapped within a Nafion membrane and a DMG–sol–gel matrix was studied and compared for different solutions. First and pseudo-second order kinetic models, Elovich, intra-particle, and liquid film diffusion models were applied to evaluate sorption kinetics.

Thermal decomposition of hydrated salts of Ni(II)-acetate and Ni(II)-lactate
Journal of Molecular Structure, 2013The formation and microstructure of thermal decomposition products obtained in air from Ni(II)-acetate tetrahydrate and Ni(II)-lactate tetrahydrate were investigated using XRD, Raman, UV/Vis/NIR and FE-SEM/EDS techniques. The formation of metallic Ni particles was due to the presence of acetate and lactate groups as reducens and with an increase in the
