Chiral vortaic effect and neutron asymmetries at NICA
We study the possibility of testing experimentally signatures of P-odd effects related with the vorticity of the medium. The Chiral Vortaic Effect is generalized to the case of conserved charges different from the electric one.

ABSTRACT Background Home care services help older adults remain living independently in their own homes. Approximately 70% of home care recipients have hearing and/or vision impairments, and 20% likely have cognitive impairments. A home‐based hearing and vision intervention (SENSE‐Cog), incorporating impairment identification and correction, device and

Nietzsche and Foucault on Self-Creation: Two Different Projects [PDF]

SARS‐CoV‐2 Nucleocapsid Protein Does Not Induce Inflammation in Endothelial Cells or Monocytes
The SARS‐CoV‐2 nucleocapsid (N) protein was thought to trigger inflammation in endothelial cells and monocytes. We found that these effects were largely caused by trace endotoxin contamination in the recombinant N‐protein. When endotoxin was neutralized or removed, N‐protein no longer induced inflammation in endothelial cells or monocytes. Our findings

Deliberating the scientific evidence base for influenza transmission to raw milk consumers
Abstract Transmission of influenza A H5N1, commonly known as avian influenza or bird flu, from wild birds to cows on 1073 large US dairy farms in 17 states, and from cows to 41 dairy workers in five states, has raised concerns about limited evidence for transmission routes.

A relative bound for independence
We prove an upper bound for the independence number of a graph in terms of the largest Laplacian eigenvalue, and of a certain induced subgraph. Our bound is a refinement of a well-known Hoffman-type bound.Comment: 10 pages; preprint, comments are ...
