Niche overlap modelling for each type of species interaction. [PDF]

open access: yes
A) Predicted niche overlap by area (herbiscape). B) Predicted niche overlap for each habitat quality level. C) Estimates of the model for each species interaction and habitat quality. Dashed line indicates estimate value of 0.

Warrens I niche overlap metric per EMIP. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The upper diagonal shows the variation in niche overlap using circle size and color (low overlap is shaded green; high overlap is shaded red; extent of overlap is indicated by dot size and red or green color saturation).

Negotiating in a Foreign Land: Understanding the Curious Interactions Between Intracellular Mitochondria and Internalized Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Therapeutic nano‐drug delivery systems interact with cellular mitochondria in a multitude of ways. While the complexity of such interactions disrupts the mitochondrial electron transport chain and increases reactive oxygen species production, thereby contributing to nanoparticle toxicity, they also present unique theranostic opportunities in diseases ...

G‐space versus E‐space: Are hornets (Hymenoptera: Vespidae) at equilibrium with honeybees in Asia?

open access: yesEcology and Evolution
This study delves into the concept of niche conservatism (NC) and its implications for how hornets (Hymenoptera: Vespidae) and honeybees respond to climate change.

An Imaging‐Guided, Patient‐Specific Guiding Aid (RWNGuide) for Safe and Reproducible Inner Ear Drug Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A patient‐specific, imaging‐guided aid enables precise and reproducible drug delivery to the inner ear. By guiding therapeutic agents directly to the round window niche, this approach reduces variability in drug localization, improves delivery safety, and addresses a critical bottleneck in inner ear therapy, offering a scalable strategy for precision ...

Coating‐Free Nanoscratching for Liquid‐Crystal Alignment on PCB‐Compatible Millimeter‐Wave Reflective Unit Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Direct nanoscratching with a 500 nm diamond lapping film creates groove‐guided liquid‐crystal alignment interfaces on PCB‐compatible Cu‐patterned RF substrates within minutes, eliminating polymer coating and high‐temperature baking. The coating‐free process enables optical/molecular alignment validation and voltage‐programmable 28 GHz reflection‐phase ...

Passive Directional Water Transport on Superhydrophobic Gradient Textures Fabricated by Direct Laser Interference Patterning

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Microstructures fabricated by two‐beam DLIP combining spatial‐period and roughness gradients are fabricated to enhance directional transport of water droplets. The coupled gradients increase transport distance by 160% and strongly suppress motion against the gradient, demonstrating an effective strategy for controlled droplet manipulation.
