Gastrointestinal Anastomosis with the Nickel‐Titanium Double Ring

World Journal of Surgery, 2000
Abstract. We used a dog model to test the safety and effectiveness of sutureless gastrointestinal anastomoses (n= 23) (end‐to‐end, end‐to‐side, or side‐to‐side) with the nickel‐titanium double ring with temperature‐dependent shape memory. Results were compared to conventional hand‐sutured anastomoses (n= 5).

Surface structure and roughness of Nickel-Titanium wires

Analytical and Bioanalytical Chemistry, 1995
Nickel-Titanium wires not only show the well known shape memory effect, but also pseudoelastic behaviour. This means, as the material is bent in a wide range of tension, the stress in the material stays constant. This special behaviour allows the improvement of orthodontic devices.

A Method to Assess Rotary Nickel-Titanium Files

Journal of Endodontics, 2000
A number of studies have assessed the physical properties and durability of rotary nickel-titanium files. This study proposes a method that will permit this to be done in a controlled manner. Files of 0.04 taper; 25 mm in length; and in ISO sizes 25, 30, and 35 were each used four times in plastic blocks.

Corrosion in stainless-steel and nickel-titanium files

Journal of Endodontics, 1999
This study evaluated and compared the corrosion susceptibility of stainless-steel and nickel-titanium (NiTi) endodontic files immersed in sodium hypochlorite. For each of the stainless-steel files (Kerr K-Flex, Caulk Flex-O, and Union Broach Flex-R) plus the NiTi files (Union Broach NiTi and Tulsa NiTi), the cutting flutes of 24 ISO size 20 files were ...

Bending properties of rotary nickel-titanium instruments

Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, Oral Radiology, and Endodontology, 2003
We sought to compare the bending properties of different rotary nickel-titanium instruments and to investigate the correlation between their bending moments and their cross-sectional surface areas.Resistance to bending was determined according to International Standards Organization publication 3630-1. The sample size was 10 files for each type, taper,

Effect of clinical use of nickel-titanium springs

American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, 2015
Our objectives were to determine whether there are changes on the load deflection rate (L/DP) and the average force (FP) of the superelastic pseudoplateau, and whether permanent deformation is changed in nickel-titanium closed-coil springs (CCSs) after 6 months of clinical use.Twenty-two nickel-titanium CCSs (Sentalloy 100 g; Dentsply GAC, York, Pa ...

Methods and models to study nickel–titanium instruments

Endodontic Topics, 2013
Over the past two decades, nickel–titanium (NiTi) instruments have become an important part of the armamentarium for root canal treatment. They are increasingly used by generalists and specialists to facilitate the cleaning and shaping of root canals.

MACHINABILITY OF NICKEL-TITANIUM ALLOYS

1963
Abstract : The purpose of this project was to determine the machining characteristics of the ductile in termetallic compound NiTi alloys. This was accomplished by conducting tool life tests in turning, face milling and tapping these alloys. In addition, grinding tests were also made.
