Chromium and Nickel [PDF]

open access: possible, 2012
Nickel (Ni) and chromium (Cr) are elements naturally present in all rock types and present in the pedosphere in a range from trace amounts to relatively high concentrations, as compared to other trace elements. Particularly high Ni and Cr concentrations are found in serpentine rocks and soils, originating from this rock type and colonized by a ...

The solubility of nickel in nickel ferrite

Journal of Physics and Chemistry of Solids, 1961
Abstract A method is described for preparing high resistivity nickel ferrites with nickel excess. High resistivity materials can be made by suppressing Fe ++ and Ni +++ ions in the spinel lattice by suitable heat treatment. Electrical measurements indicate that excess nickel dissolves in the ferrite lattice up to a nickel to iron ratio of 1.029: 2.

Occupational Toxicology of Nickel and Nickel Compounds

Journal of Environmental Pathology, Toxicology and Oncology, 2009
Nickel and nickel compounds are widely used in industry. The high consumption of nickel products inevitably leads to occupational and environmental pollution. In occupational settings, exposure to nickel and nickel compounds occurs primarily during nickel refining, electroplating, and welding.

Nickel and Nickel Alloys

2018
This chapter surveys the properties of nickel and its alloys (Sect. 11.1). It includes essential data tables covering the highly alloyed Ni-based materials (Sect. 11.2) and Ni-based superalloys (Sect. 11.3). Section 11.4, which completes the chapter, covers Ni plating.

Decomposition reactions of nickel formate, nickel malonate, nickel maleate and nickel fumarate in oxygen

Journal of the Chemical Society, Faraday Transactions 1: Physical Chemistry in Condensed Phases, 1974
Decomposition of nickel formate, nickel malonate, nickel maleate and nickel fumarate in oxygen yields nickel oxide and carbon dioxide only. The shape of each fractional reaction-time curve is comparable with that for the vacuum pyrolysis of the salt, there is no evidence that the product oxide provided a progressively increasing barrier to the progress
