How Mn and Ti Promote Metal Dusting in NiCu Alloys
Cu/MnO catalysis mechanisms of CO lead to C uptake in NiCu alloys and a fairly uniform layered metal dusting attack. Mn effectively eliminates the catalytic inhibition benefits of Cu in NiCu alloys. Rather Cu is detrimental if Mn is present as it promotes MnO catalysis.
