To investigate hydrogeological properties of exposed lithological units, the geological and hydrogeological mapping, at a scale of 1/25000 of an area about 655 km2 were carried out. The study area lies on the `North Anatolian Fault Zone`.

In this study, Black, Red Pine and Scoth Pine plantation in Tokat-Niksar region planted in 1982 investigated. The size of study area is 196 ha and this research was done 54 sample plots. The size of each sample plot is 225 and 400 square metres and there have been 64 Black Pine, Red Pine and Scoth Pine seedlings on each sample plot.
