The commutator algebra of a nilpotent matrix and an application to the theory of commutative Artinian algebras [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
We show a number of properties of the commutator algebra of a nilpotent matrix over a field. In particular we determine the simple modules of the commutator algebra.

De Sitter Supergravity Model Building

open access: yes, 2015
We present the explicit de Sitter supergravity action describing the interaction of supergravity with an arbitrary number of chiral and vector multiplets as well as one nilpotent chiral multiplet. The action has a non-Gaussian dependence on the auxiliary

Nilpotent deformations of N=2 superspace

open access: yes, 2003
We investigate deformations of four-dimensional N=(1,1) euclidean superspace induced by nonanticommuting fermionic coordinates. We essentially use the harmonic superspace approach and consider nilpotent bi-differential Poisson operators only. One variant

The algebra of parallel endomorphisms of a germ of pseudo-Riemannian metric

open access: yes, 2015
On a (pseudo-)Riemannian manifold (M,g), some fields of endomorphisms i.e. sections of End(TM) may be parallel for g. They form an associative algebra A, which is also the commutant of the holonomy group of g.

Some nilpotent and locally nilpotent matrix groups

open access: yesJournal of Pure and Applied Algebra, 1989
The task of the paper under review is a detailed discussion of nilpotent and locally nilpotent matrix groups over ``special'' division rings. The notion of a ``special'' division ring is introduced by the author and denotes a division ring D with the following property: For every finite subset X of D and every finite subset Y of the subring R of D ...

Linear Diophantine equations and conjugator length in 2‐step nilpotent groups

open access: yesBulletin of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 58, Issue 3, March 2026.
Abstract We establish upper bounds on the lengths of minimal conjugators in 2‐step nilpotent groups. These bounds exploit the existence of small integral solutions to systems of linear Diophantine equations. We prove that in some cases these bounds are sharp.

Elementary invariants for centralizers of nilpotent matrices

open access: yes, 2006
We construct an explicit set of algebraically independent generators for the center of the universal enveloping algebra of the centralizer of a nilpotent matrix in the Lie algebra gl_N(C).

Generalisations of Capparelli's and Primc's identities, II: Perfect An−1(1)$A_{n-1}^{(1)}$ crystals and explicit character formulae

open access: yesJournal of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 113, Issue 3, March 2026.
Abstract In the first paper of this series, we gave infinite families of coloured partition identities which generalise Primc's and Capparelli's classical identities. In this second paper, we study the representation theoretic consequences of our combinatorial results.

Roots of Matrices [PDF]

open access: yesSongklanakarin Journal of Science and Technology (SJST), 2005
A matrix S is said to be an nth root of a matrix A if Sn = A, where n is a positive integer greater than or equal to 2. If there is no such matrix for any integer n > 2, A is called a rootless matrix. After investigating the properties of these matrices,

Connected components of the space of flags of SO0(p,q)$\operatorname{SO}_0(p,q)$ transverse to a fixed pair and restrictions on Anosov subgroups

open access: yesJournal of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 113, Issue 3, March 2026.
Abstract We count and give a parametrization of connected components in the space of flags transverse to a given transverse pair in every flag varieties of SO0(p,q)$\operatorname{SO}_0(p,q)$. We compute the effect the involution of the unipotent radical has on those components and, using methods of Dey–Greenberg–Riestenberg, we show that for certain ...
