Influence of grain size of acidic NiMo/TS-1 on its catalytic performance for hydrodesulfurization of dibenzothiophenes

open access: yesCarbon Resources Conversion
TS-1 zeolites with different grain sizes were prepared under hydrothermal conditions by tuning the amount of template agent, chelating agent, and temperature, which were further used as supports for the NiMo/TS-1 catalysts.

Unraveling the Origin of Exceptional Activity in NiMo Alloys for Alkaline Hydrogen Evolution

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study resolves the controversy regarding the active origin of Nickel‐molybdenum (NiMo) alloys for alkaline hydrogen evolution. By combining surface Pourbaix diagrams with microkinetic modeling, we demonstrate that the O‐covered Ni3Mo surface drives activity through a synergistic mechanism: Mo sites facilitate water dissociation while adjacent Ni ...

Activity of Spent Catalysts in the Hydrodesulfurization of Gas Oil [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Activities of spent catalysts were examined in hydrodesulfurization (HDS) of gas oil at 340oC under 50 kg/cm2 H2. Two types of spent commercial catalyst (NiMo/Al2O3 dan CoMo/Al2O3) were used in single and two-stage of reaction configuration to show the ...

Laterally Oriented Dendritic Passivation via In Situ Zn Reconstruction for Stabilizing NiMo Catalysts under Dynamic Electrolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study highlights the effectiveness of Zn‐induced dendrite layers in enhancing the durability of NiMo HER catalysts under dynamic electrochemical conditions. Through in situ dendritic passivation, the Zn‐NiMo catalyst preserves catalytic active sites and mitigates irreversible Ni oxidation/hydroxylation during repeated load fluctuation.

Beyond Sabatier: Multiplicate Spillover Phenomena for Manipulating Catalytic Dynamics in Various Electrocatalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Various spillover‐mediated electrocatalytic reactions, such as hydrogen and oxygen evolution, carbon dioxide and nitrogen reduction, and methanol oxidization reactions, are systematically summarized. Abstract Spillover phenomenon, which is characterized by the dynamic migration of active species across catalyst surfaces, provides a promising avenue to ...

Tailoring Intermediate Adsorption Through d‐band Mismatch Strategy of Heterojunction to Achieve Industrial Overall Water Splitting

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This paper demonstrates the fabrication of a Ni3Mo/Ni3N junction to investigate d‐band engineering and elucidate the specific roles of Ni3Mo and Ni3N active sites in improving catalytic activity. Through integrated spectroscopic characterization and first‐principles modeling, for the first time, a d‐band mismatch mechanism has been proposed to ...
