Temperature effects on material characteristics [PDF]

open access: yes, 1960
Some of the physical properties of the main elements of interest in high temperature technology are reviewed. Some general trends emerge when these properties are viewed as a function of melting point, but there are a few notable exceptions. Titanium,

Nb2C‐Reinforced Hydrogel Microneedle as Dual ROS‐Scavenging Platform to Promote Diabetic Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
An advanced microneedle patch integrating niobium carbide nanosheets and curcumin is engineered for diabetic wound healing. The system enables dual ROS scavenging and NIR‐enhanced antimicrobial activity, effectively rebalancing the oxidative microenvironment, promoting macrophage repolarization and angiogenesis, and accelerating full‐thickness wound ...

Cr2AlC: A High‐Temperature Transparent Conducting Ceramic

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
The high‐quality epitaxial Cr2AlC(0001) layer combines a low resistivity of 42.5 µΩcm, 84% optical transmittance at 900 nm, and thermal stability up to 800–1100°C. It stands out as an excellent high‐temperature transparent conductor with a negligible resistivity size effect, exceptional scaling (ρoλ < 3 × 10−16 Ωm2), and a figure of merit of 0.004 Ω−1.

NIOBIUM CARBIDE COATING OF GRAPHITE TUBES [PDF]

open access: yes, 1958
Graphite tubes having a length-to-bore-diameter ratio of 430 were coated on the inside with uniform adherent layers of niobium carbide in thicknesses of 0.002 and 0.004 in. Intimate conformity to the graphite surface and improved uniformity were obtained by reacting NbCl/sub 5/ vapor with the graphite under pressuretemperature conditions ...
