Nipple swab culture profile as a potential predictor of postoperative complications in autologous breast reconstruction: a retrospective study [PDF]
Background The nipple is a potential source of pathogens because its lactiferous ducts act as direct conduits from the nipple–areolar complex to the breast parenchyma.

Advances and Strategies in Enhancing mRNA Cancer Vaccines
Messenger RNA (mRNA) vaccines offer a powerful approach for cancer immunotherapy, but their clinical impact remains limited by delivery challenges and suboptimal immune activation. This review discusses key biological barriers and design strategies—including structural optimization, immunomodulation, organ targeting delivery, and advanced nanocarriers ...

Inverted Nipple and Nipple Reconstruction: The ‘Parachute’ Flap [PDF]
The inverted nipple is a condition seldom discussed at length in standard works on breast surgery. The pathophysiology is a relatively short ductal system, which prevents the nipple from everting. Surgical procedures to correct the inverted nipple are divided into those that preserve ductal integrity and those that do not.

Fiber‐reinforced elastin‐like tubular scaffolds are engineered to achieve anisotropic and reversible actuation under external stimuli. By adjusting fiber's angle, actuation behavior is finely tuned, enabling distinct actuation responses, even within different regions of the same scaffold.

Nanomaterial‐Based Optical Biosensors for SARS‐CoV‐2 Detection: A Retrospective of the Pandemic
This review discusses nanomaterial‐based optical biosensors developed for or adapted to the detection of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS‐CoV‐2). It concludes by providing a perspective on how lessons learned during the coronavirus disease of 2019 (COVID‐19) pandemic may be applied for future research on nanomaterial‐based ...

De-epithelialized dermal flap for nipple reconstruction: A modified star flap
Background Multiple approaches for nipple reconstruction exist, and none is considered superior to all others. The star flap is one of the most popular methods for nipple reconstruction, but gradual height loss is a major concern.
