Gigaxonin Potentiates Antiviral Innate Immune Responses by Targeting cGAS and TREX1

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
TREX1 antagonizes DNA sensor cGAS by degrading cytosolic DNA. This work identifies gigaxonin as a molecular switch that coordinates DNA sensing and clearance pathways to amplify antiviral responses. Under the steady state, gigaxonin maintains cellular homeostasis by mediating TREX1 ubiquitination and proteasomal degradation. During DNA virus infection,

Engineered Fusion Enzyme‐Mediated Non‐Consecutive Cyclization‐Glycosylation Enables Heterologous Synthesis of Antifungal Enfumafungin

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The artificial biosynthetic pathway potentially involved in biosynthesis of enfumafungin is first reconstructed in an optimized Aspergillus oryzae chassis with the increased site‐specific integration efficiency and shortened time for marker recycling, which requires an artificial fusion enzyme EfuA(TC)FsoA(GT).
