NanoMOF‐Based Multilevel Anti‐Counterfeiting by a Combination of Visible and Invisible Photoluminescence and Conductivity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents novel anti‐counterfeiting tags with multilevel security features that utilize additional disguise features. They combine luminescent nanosized Ln‐MOFs with conductive polymers to multifunctional mixed‐matrix membranes and powder composites. The materials exhibit visible/NIR emission and matrix‐based conductivity even as black bodies.

Cu‐Based MOF/TiO2 Composite Nanomaterials for Photocatalytic Hydrogen Generation and the Role of Copper

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
HKUST‐1/TiO2 composite materials show a very high photocatalytic hydrogen evolution rate which increases as a function of the irradiation time until reaching a plateau and even surpasses the performance of the 1%Pt/TiO2 material after three photocatalytic cycles.

Hemodynamic and electrophysiological evidence of resting-state network activity in the primate [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
An expanding body of literature describes the existence of concerted brain activations in the absence of any external stimuli. Resting-state networks have been identified and demonstrated to be modulated during the performance of specific cognitive ...

Bimetallic Nanoparticles as Cocatalysts for Photocatalytic Hydrogen Production

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Recent developments have introduced bimetallic nanoparticles as effective cocatalysts for photocatalytic systems. This review explores the rapidly expanding research on bimetallic cocatalysts for photocatalytic production of hydrogen, emphasizing the creation of carrier‐selective contacts, localized surface plasmon resonance effects, methodologies for ...

Global nirs models to predict main chemical compounds of Eucalyptus woods [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The Nirs technology is particularly well-suited to tree improvement programmes where huge numbers of samples must be analysed, but it can be used in any forestry application where the rapid measurement of wood property data is required or to screen ...

The Near Infrared Background: Interplanetary Dust or Primordial Stars?

open access: yes, 2005
The intensity of the diffuse ~ 1 - 4 micron sky emission from which solar system and Galactic foregrounds have been subtracted is in excess of that expected from energy released by galaxies and stars that formed during the z < 5 redshift interval (Arendt

Relationships between soil physicochemical properties and nitrogen fixing, nitrifying and denitrifying under varying land-use practices in the northwest region of Argentina [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The aim of this study was to evaluate the response pattern of diazotrophic microbes, denitrifiers and nitrifiers to different types of land use management, such as soybean monoculture (M) during 5 and 24 years (M5 and M24) and soybean-maize rotation (R ...

Ladder‐Type Benzene‐Perylene Dyes with Efficient Laser Properties in the Near‐IR by Detracting/Activating Low/High Frequency Vibronic Modes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The NNR‐n series of oligomeric nanographenes delivers exceptional emission performance. This work shows that this performance is originated by their ladder‐type structure, which effectively deactivates low‐frequency vibronic modes. This deactivation neglects the main pathway for non‐emissive deactivation, even in the near‐infrared region. The potential
