Complications of Intrathoracic Nissen Fundoplication
The Annals of Thoracic Surgery, 1981This report details our experience with 30 patients who had Nissen fundoplication. Six underwent transabdominal Nissen fundoplication, and 10 had transthoracic Collis-Nissen with the gastric wrap in a subdiaphragmatic position. The American Journal of Surgery, 1999Good results for antireflux surgery are obtained when proper patients are selected, trained surgeons perform the operation, and proper techniques are used. As our prior results showed higher rates of dysphagia without fundus mobilization (Nissen-Rossetti fundoplication), we now perform complete mobilization on all patients.

Laparoscopic Nissen-Rossetti fundoplication
Surgical Endoscopy, 1994Although antireflux surgery offers very good results and patient's satisfaction, the referral rate to the surgeon remains very low. We present our experience with a less-invasive procedure that would result in minimal pain and very rapid return to normal activities and thus might lead to earlier referral.

Transabdominal Nissen Fundoplication
2011Nissen fundoplication is offered to patients who have gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) refractory to maximal medical management. The open transabdominal Nissen fundoplication which is an effective elective anti-reflux procedure has now been replaced by its laparoscopic counterpart.

[Nissen's fundoplication by celiovideoscopy].
Annales de chirurgie, 1995One hundred and sixty two laparoscopic fundoplications were performed between may 1991 and december 1993 by the first author. No perioperative death was observed. There were 4 intraoperative complications (3%): 1 gastric perforation, 2 pleural perforations and 1 liver laceration.
