Nitinol Strain Effects

Straining annealed Nitinol (TiNi) wire changes the characteristics of its subsequent phase transformation. It generates peaks in electrical resistance and an additional peak in the calorimetry curve. This work explores the relationship between the stress associated with this strain and the peaks formed during transformation.
