The fibrils untwisting limits the rate of cellulose nitration process.
Carbohydrate Polymers, 2019The rate of cellulose nitration is lower compared to the low molecular weight substances. Theoretical estimates assess that the rate of the nitrating agents' diffusion cannot provide for the characteristic time of cellulose nitration, as the densely ...

Nitrate and nitrite salts are commonly used to preserve and sustain color in a number of processed meats. To date there have been no described cases of anaphylaxis to either nitrates or nitrites in the literature. We report a patient with anaphylaxis to nitrates and nitrites documented by double-blind, placebo-controlled capsule challenge.A 22-year-old ...

These studies have shown the following: Tolerance to the hemodynamic and antianginal effects of isosorbide dinitrate. Tolerance develops quickly and can be demonstrated within 24 hours. Tolerance is rapidly reversed and the return of normal responsiveness is seen within 21 hours withdrawal of isosorbide dinitrate.

Nitrates have been used for the last 130 years to treat and control the symptoms of angina pectoris. Within the last 15 years, nitrates also have been shown to limit infarct size and to be beneficial in the treatment of patients with severe intractable heart failure, cardiogenic shock, severe mitral and aortic regurgitation, hypertensive episodes, and ...
