European Journal of Organic Chemistry, Volume 26, Issue 47, December 13, 2023., 2023 Starting from a modified Bachmann procedure, which is commonly used for the synthesis of RDX and HMX, two new nitro esters were synthesized and investigated, 1,3‐dinitroxy‐2‐nitrazapropane and 1,7‐dinitroxy‐2,4,6‐trinitrazaheptane. Furthermore, the structural similar compound 1,3‐dinitroxy‐2‐oxapropane was obtained.

Nitrate Upcycling Mediated by Organonickel Catalysis
Angewandte Chemie, Volume 136, Issue 39, September 23, 2024.A nickel‐catalyzed nitrate (NO3−) upcycling technology has been developed that uses a nickel pincer complex as a bifunctional catalyst to effect sequential deoxygenation followed by C−N coupling. This approach enables nitrate salts to be selectively transformed into various oximes (>20 substrates) with excellent conversion (>90 %).
