Oxidation of α-oxo-oximes to nitrile oxides with hypervalent iodine reagents.
Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2011Upon reaction with PhI(OAc)(2), α-oxo-aldoximes are oxidized to α-oxo-nitrile oxides, while α-oxo-ketoximes are converted into nitrile oxides via the oxidative cleavage of the carbonyl-imino σ bond.

Synthesis of Highly Reactive Polymer Nitrile N-Oxides for Effective Solvent-Free Grafting.
ACS Macro Letters, 2014A one-pot synthesis of polymer nitrile N-oxides was achieved via the Michael addition of living polymer anions derived from vinyl monomers to commercially available trans-β-nitrostyrene and subsequent dehydration with concd H2SO4.

Selective Oxidation of Hydrocarbons by Nitric Oxide to Nitriles
1990The oxidation of 20 hydrocarbons, having different structure, by nitric oxide has been investigated on composite lead oxide catalysts. The CH3-group, conjugated with a double bond or the aromatic ring, is attacked by NO to form cyano group. Nitric oxide is reduced to N2O and N2.
