2-Nitro-1,3-dinitrooxypropane [PDF]
The title compound, C3H5N3O8, was synthesized by reacting 2-nitro-propane-1,3-diol with acetyl nitrate. The mol-ecule is bisected by a crystallograpic mirror plane. In the crystal, the mol-ecules pack in a ribbon-like fashion along the c axis, with the central nitro groups pointing in the same direction.

4-Nitro-2-phenoxyaniline [PDF]
In the title compound, C(12)H(10)N(2)O(3), the oxygen atom bridging the two aromatic rings is in a synperiplanar (+sp) conformation. The dihedral angle between the aromatic rings is 71.40 (12)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by inter-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Recent Progress in Nitro-Promoted Direct Functionalization of Pyridones and Quinolones
Nitro group is one of the most important functional groups in organic syntheses because its strongly electron-withdrawing ability activates the scaffold, facilitating the reaction with nucleophilic reagents or the Diels−Alder reaction.

Chalcogen Bonding Catalysis of a Nitro‐Michael Reaction
Chalcogen bonding is the non‐covalent interaction between Lewis acidic chalcogen substituents and Lewis bases. Herein, we present the first application of dicationic tellurium‐based chalcogen bond donors in the nitro‐Michael reaction between trans‐β ...
