Five‐Nanometer Diamond with Luminescent Nitrogen‐Vacancy Defect Centers

open access: yesSmall, 2009
A study was conducted to investigate the properties of weakly bound clusters of single-digit nanodiamonds (SND) using spectrally and temporally resolved luminescence detection, electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopy, and transmission electron microscopy (SEM).

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Modelling Rabi oscillations for widefield radiofrequency imaging in nitrogen-vacancy centers in diamond

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics
In this paper we study the dynamics of an ensemble of nitrogen-vacancy centers in diamond when its photoluminescence is detected by means of a widefield imaging system.

Chip-based microcavities coupled to NV centers in single crystal diamond

open access: yes, 2009
Optical coupling of nitrogen vacancy centers in single-crystal diamond to an on-chip microcavity is demonstrated. The microcavity is fabricated from a hybrid gallium phosphide and diamond material system, and supports whispering gallery mode resonances ...

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Entangling remote qubits using the single-photon protocol: an in-depth theoretical and experimental study

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2023
The generation of entanglement between remote matter qubits has developed into a key capability for fundamental investigations as well as for emerging quantum technologies.

Highly Sensitive On-Chip Magnetometer with Saturable Absorbers in Two-Color Microcavities

open access: yes, 2016
Interacting resonators can lead to strong non-linearities but the details can be complicated to predict. In this work, we study the non-linearities introduced by two nested microcavities that interact with nitrogen vacancy centers in a diamond waveguide.

A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.

Laser-written waveguide-integrated coherent spins in diamond

open access: yesAPL Photonics
Quantum emitters, such as the negatively charged nitrogen-vacancy center in diamond, are attractive for quantum technologies, such as nano-sensing, quantum information processing, and as a non-classical light source.

Toward wafer-scale diamond nano- and quantum technologies

open access: yesAPL Materials, 2019
We investigate native nitrogen vacancy (NV) and silicon vacancy (SiV) color centers in a commercially available, heteroepitaxial, wafer-sized, mm thick, single-crystal diamond.
