Hydrogen-assisted dehydrochlorination of 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoro-2-chloropropane to 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene over Pd-Ag/nano-MgF2 with optimized Pd isolated sites

open access: yesCommunications Chemistry
Hydrogen-assisted dehydrochlorination process (HaDHC) is an attractive route for the production of fluorine-containing olefins under relatively mild conditions, so far lacking the highly efficient metal-based catalysts and their design strategy. Here, we

Regulatory Effect of Spermine on Growth and Antioxidant System in Tomato Seedlings Grown in the Presence of Cadmium [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Stress Physiology & Biochemistry, 2019
The protective role of exogenous supplied polyamines such as spermine in detoxifying the cadmium induced toxicity was studied in the tomato plants Solanum lycopersicum, we applied a dose of (1 mM) spermine with cadmium (0, 20 and 100 µM) for 7 days.

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Evaluation of 10 Edamame Breeding Lines to Determine Yield, Agronomic, and Seed Composition Traits

open access: yesHortScience
Edamame is a vegetable soybean (Glycine max) that is harvested at the R6 growth stage. Although it is relatively new to America, the acreage and market demand of edamame have steadily increased.

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Agroecosystems, Nitrogen-use Efficiency, and Nitrogen Management

open access: yesAMBIO: A Journal of the Human Environment, 2002
The global challenge of meeting increased food demand and protecting environmental quality will be won or lost in cropping systems that produce maize, rice, and wheat. Achieving synchrony between N supply and crop demand without excess or deficiency is the key to optimizing trade-offs amongst yield, profit, and environmental protection in both large ...

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

Mycobacterial cell division arrest and smooth‐to‐rough envelope transition using CRISPRi‐mediated genetic repression systems

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing and phenotypic exploration in nontuberculous mycobacteria. In this Research Protocol, we describe approaches to control, monitor, and quantitatively assess CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing in M. smegmatis and M. abscessus model organisms.
