Proximal femoral focal deficiency : a case report [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Proximal Femoral Focal Deficiency (PFFD) is a rare and complex congenital anomaly (1:50,000-200,000 population) that results in varying degrees of femoral hypoplasia with limb shortening and pelvic abnormalities.

NITROGEN DEFICIENCY CALCULATION OF LEAVES USING ARTIFICIAL NEURAL NETWORK

open access: yes, 2021
In this proposed work, we are estimating the nitrogen content and calculating the nitrogen deficiency in pomegranate leaves. We collect different Nitrogen deficient leaves. We had measured the chlorophyll content of the collected leaves.

Multistage, Self‐Sensing Artificial Muscles With Coordination From Liquid Crystal Elastomer‐Graphene Composite Fibers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Inspired by skeletal muscles’ precision and endurance, CoilLCE integrates a self‐sensing liquid crystal elastomer/graphene artificial muscle with an embedded Joule‐heating copper coil, enabling closed‐loop multistage actuation with programmable intermediate states (strain accuracy of 2%), and antagonistic coordination (32% total strain). These features

Raman spectroscopy enables non-destructive quantification of nitrate in C3 and C4 plants

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science
Accurate assessment of plant nitrate status is critical for growth and productivity, yet early and non-destructive quantification remains challenging.

CO2‐to‐CO Conversion in a Gas‐Fed, Zero‐Gap, PEM Electrolyzer Enabled by Polycations and Nitrogen‐Doped Carbon‐Supported Cobalt Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A gas‐fed, zero‐gap, PEM CO2 electrolyzer is realized by incorporating PDDA+ ions onto the carbonaceous Co/N‐C electrocatalyst, with gaseous H2 and CO2 fed into the anode and cathode, respectively. Operating without an aqueous electrolyte, the system sustains a peak FECO of 65.1% at 100 mA cm−2. ABSTRACT Electrochemical carbon dioxide reduction (ECO2R)

Nitrogen leaching from effluent irrigated pasture [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The surface waters of the Taupo region are of high quality and are sensitive to inputs of nitrogen. To reduce the amount of nitrogen discharged to surface water, the Taupo District Council (TDC) has employed a land treatment scheme (LTS), where treated ...

High‐Efficiency Deep Blue Single‐Gaussian Europium(II) Emitters and Their Emitter‐Host Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Crown‐ether ligands and carborate anions enable vacuum‐processable Eu(II) emitters with efficient single‐Gaussian deep‐blue luminescence. Combined photophysical and computational analyses reveal that excited‐electron confinement and steric shielding of the europium center jointly govern compatibility with OLED host materials, establishing molecular ...

Nitrogen-fixing methane-utilizing bacteria [PDF]

open access: yes, 1976
Methane occurs abundantly in nature. In the presence of oxygen this gas may be metabolized by bacteria that are able to use it as carbon and energy source.

Sugar repression of photosynthesis: the role of carbohydrates in signalling nitrogen deficiency through source/sink imbalance

open access: yes, 1997
The aim of this work was to examine whether carbohydrates are involved in signalling N deficiency through source:sink imbalance. Photosynthetic metabolism in tobacco was studied over 8 d during the withdrawal of N from previously N-sufficient plants in ...

An Integrated Oxygen‐Supplying Device and Predictive Multiphysics Model for Extended Ambient Transport of Insulin‐Producing Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Cell therapies typically rely on cold‐chain logistics and cryopreservation, limiting access and compromising cell quality. Here, a dual‐chamber device separates an oxygen‐supplying chamber from a hyaluronic acid cargo chamber, sustaining oxygen delivery for over 70 h and enabling ambient‐temperature shipment.
