The Use of a New Passive Sampler for Ozone and Nitrogen Oxides Monitoring in Ecological Effects Research

open access: yesThe Scientific World Journal, 2001
A simple, cost-effective diffusive sampler is described that is suitable for measuring parts per billion (ppb) levels of ozone and nitrogen oxides.

Oxide Emissions Reduction from Combustion Control in a Diesel Engine

open access: yesСельскохозяйственные машины и технологии, 2021
The authors showed that the European Union norms for the toxicity of exhaust gases (Euro 1 – Euro 5) contributed to the reduction of main harmful components emissions by several times.

Effect of the temperature of waste cooking oil methyl esters on the value of nitrogen oxides emission from the self-ignition engine [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2020
Combustion of diesel oil and liquid biofuels in self-ignition engines is related to the emission of harmful gases to the atmosphere (i.e. nitrogen, carbon or sulfur oxides).

Nitrogen and sulfur deposition on regional and global scales : a multimodel evaluation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
[1] We use 23 atmospheric chemistry transport models to calculate current and future (2030) deposition of reactive nitrogen (NOy, NHx) and sulfate (SOx) to land and ocean surfaces.

RESEARCH AND ASSESSMENT OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL SECURITY OF BAKERY ENTERPRISES

open access: yesHarčova Nauka ì Tehnologìâ, 2020
The paper considers how to decrease the concentration of nitrogen oxides in gas emissions of bakery enterprises. Nitrogen oxides (NOx) formed in the course of burning natural gas  are responsible for more than 90% of an enterprise’s hazard category.

Absorption and Oxidation of Nitrogen Oxide in Ionic Liquids [PDF]

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, 2016
AbstractA new strategy for capturing nitrogen oxide, NO, from the gas phase is presented. Dilute NO gas is removed from the gas phase by ionic liquids under ambient conditions. The nitrate anion of the ionic liquid catalyzes the oxidation of NO to nitric acid by atmospheric oxygen in the presence of water.

Nocturnal nitrogen oxides at a rural mountain-site in south-western Germany [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
A new, two-channel instrument for simultaneous NO3 and N2O5 monitoring was used to make the first comprehensive set of nocturnal NOx measurements (NO, NO2, NO3 and N2O5) at the Taunus Observatory, a rural mountain site (Kleiner Feldberg) in South-western

Nitrogen oxides in the troposphere – What have we learned from satellite measurements?

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2009
Nitrogen oxides are key species in the troposphere where they are linked to ozone formation and acid rain. The sources of nitrogen oxides are anthropogenic to large extend, mainly through combustion of fossil fuels.

Air pollution by nitrogen oxides in Sarajevo from 2005 to 2010

open access: yesJournal of Health Sciences, 2013
Introduction: Air pollution occurs when the concentration of certain substances (pollutants) reaches a size which causes its toxicity, or in other words, begins to cause harm to human health, fl ora and wildlife.

REDUCTION OF NOx BY MEANS OF UREA INJECTION -ROVINARIPOWER PLANT CASE [PDF]

open access: yesAnalele Universităţii "Constantin Brâncuşi" din Târgu Jiu: Seria Inginerie, 2018
The paper examines how nitrogen in the fuel is a pollutant. The mechanism of formation of nitrogen oxides is presented: is a function of excess air, coal age (volatile matter content), and function of temperature in the
