Nitrogen Uptake by Sweet Corn1
Abstract N-demand periods and the form and quantity of N absorbed during the growth cycle of sweet corn ( Zea Mays L.) was determined for ‘Silver Queen’ grown in solution culture with a N ratio of 50% NO 3– 50% NH 4

We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Increasing nitrogen (N) deposition may alter soil N status and dynamics, as well as the emission of soil greenhouse gases (GHGs). Most of the experimental N manipulations performed so far have neglected the interaction with the canopy, which influences ...

Post-anthesis nitrogen uptake and translocation play critical roles in photosynthetic assimilation and grain filling. However, their effects on leaf stay-green characteristics, dry matter accumulation, and translocation after anthesis remain unclear.

Nitrogen enrichment of a boreal forest [PDF]
The aim of this thesis was to investigate how nitrogen (N) enrichment influences ecophysiological processes involved in driving changes in understory species composition in Swedish boreal forests.

Screening and epitope characterization of Nidogen‐2‐specific nanobodies
Camel immunization and phage display were employed to generate high‐affinity VHH nanobodies against Nidogen‐2. After library construction, biopanning, ELISA screening, sequencing, and recombinant expression, selected nanobodies were purified and characterized, leading to the preliminary exploration of a nanobody‐based sandwich ELISA for specific ...

Nitrogen Turnover in Swedish Spruce Forest Ecosystems [PDF]
Nitrate leaching from growing forests is not yet a widespread problem in Sweden, but nitrogen (N) deposition and high N retention in the soil during recent decades might have changed forest ecosystems towards N saturation.

Rapid screening of staphylokinase protein variants using an unpurified cell‐free expression system
An unpurified cell‐free protein synthesis (CFPS) platform enables rapid functional screening of staphylokinase variants. Direct plasminogen‐activation assays performed in microplate format provide real‐time activity readouts, allowing rapid identification and ranking of variants with improved or reduced fibrinolytic activity without protein ...

MACRO NUTRIENTS UPTAKE OF FORAGE GRASSES AT DIFFERENT SALINITY STRESSES
The high concentration of sodium chloride (NaCl) in saline soils has negative effects on the growth ofmost plants. The experiment was designed to evaluate macro nutrient uptake (Nitrogen, Phosphorus andPotassium) of forage grasses at different NaCl ...
