Despite significant efforts in developing novel biomaterials to regenerate tissue, only a few of them have successfully reached clinical use. It has become clear that the next generation of biomaterials must be multifunctional. Smart biomaterials can respond to environmental or external stimuli, interact in a spatial‐temporal manner, and trigger ...

Nitrous oxide emissions from irrigated cotton soils of northern Australia [PDF]
An automated gas sampling methodology has been used to estimate nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from heavy black clay soil in northern Australia where split applications of urea were applied to furrow irrigated cotton. Nitrous oxide emissions from the beds

Comparison of therapeutic and diagnostic applications of a surface‐emitting light source with multiwavelength emission characteristics. Abstract Conventional light‐emitting‐diode‐based light sources suffer from rigidity, localized heating, and poor adaptability to skin deformation, limiting their use in skin‐attached medical devices.

Commercial vascular grafts are made from ePTFE, a highly hydrophobic, foreign material that fails at a high rate in small‐diameter applications. Plasma polymer nanoparticles (PPN) are a versatile material functionalisation tool, used here to present fibrillin‐1 fragment PF8 on the graft surface.

Environmental impacts of grazed pastures [PDF]
Large nitrogen (N) surplus and return of excreta-N in localised patches at high N rates in intensively grazed pasture systems markedly increases the risk of N losses to waterways and the atmosphere. Here are described the main routes of N input to grazed

We present a strategy to enhance magnetic hyperthermia therapy by modulating nanoparticle–cell interactions. Antibody‐functionalized magnetic nanoparticles targeting the low‐internalizing CCR9 receptor enable spatially controlled membrane anchoring, reducing aggregation and maximizing heat generation under alternating magnetic fields.
