Multi-rogue waves solutions to the focusing NLS equation and the KP-I equation [PDF]

open access: yesNatural Hazards and Earth System Sciences, 2011
We construct a multi-parametric family of quasi-rational solutions to the focusing NLS equation, presenting a profile of multiple rogue waves. These solutions have also been used by us to construct a large family of smooth, real localized rational ...

Asymptotic stability of N-solitons in the cubic NLS equation [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Hyperbolic Differential Equations, 2017
We consider the Cauchy problem for the cubic focusing nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) equation on the line with initial datum close to an [Formula: see text]-soliton. Using the inverse scattering method and the [Formula: see text]-method, we establish the decay of the [Formula: see text]-norm of the residual term in time.

Resonant Large Deviations Principle for the Beating NLS Equation [PDF]

open access: yesSIAM Journal on Mathematical Analysis
We prove a large deviations principle for the solution to the beating NLS equation on the torus with random initial data supported on two Fourier modes. When these modes have different initial variance, we prove that the resonant energy exchange between them increases the likelihood of extreme wave formation.

Approximation of Solitons in the Discrete NLS Equation [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Nonlinear Mathematical Physics, 2008
We study four diferent approximations for finding the profile of discrete solitons in the one-dimensional Discrete Nonlinear Schrödinger (DNLS) Equation. Three of them are discrete approximations (namely, a variational approach, an approximation to homo- clinic orbits and a Green-function approach), and the other one is a quasi-continuum approximation.

Solitary wave solutions of the Camassa–Holm-Nonlinear Schrödinger Equation

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2020
This study investigates the solitary wave solutions to the defocusing nonlinear Schrödinger equation, which is known as Camassa–Holm-Nonlinear Schrödinger (CH-NLS) equation.

Bright and dark solitary wave soliton solutions for the generalized higher order nonlinear Schrödinger equation and its stability

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2017
The higher order nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) equation describes ultra-short pluse propagation in optical fibres. By using the amplitude ansatz method, we derive the exact bright, dark and bright-dark solitary wave soliton solutions of the generalized ...

(2+1)-dimensional modulated nonlinear ion-acoustic soliton packets in magnetized electronegative plasma

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2023
The dynamics of propagation of (2+1)-dimensional ion-acoustic wave (IAW) packets in magnetized electronegative plasma made of negative ions with electrons, both in Boltzmann distribution and cold mobile positive ions is studied.
