No-reference video quality measurement: added value of machine learning
Video quality measurement is an important component in the end-to-end video delivery chain. Video quality is, however, subjective, and thus, there will always be interobserver differences in the subjective opinion about the visual quality of the same video.

The objective of this study was to construct a recombinant adenovirus expressing the foot-and-mouth disease virus (FMDV) capsid protein of types O and A for future FMDV vaccines to be used in the livestock industry for the reduction in losses caused by ...

A no-reference perceptual blur metric [PDF]
We present a no-reference blur metric for images and video. The blur metric is based on the analysis of the spread of the edges in an image. Its perceptual significance is validated through subjective experiments. The novel metric is near real-time, has low computational complexity and is shown to perform well over a range of image content.

Modeling of Quality of Experience in No-Reference Model
The key objective of no-reference (NR) visual metrics is to predict the end-user experience concerning remotely delivered video content. Rapidly increasing demand for easily accessible, high quality video material makes it crucial for service providers ...

In the Old World, phlebotomine sand flies from the genus Phlebotomus are implicated in the transmission of Leishmania spp. parasites (Kinetoplastida: Trypanosomatidae) and viruses belonging to the genus Phlebovirus (Bunyavirales: Phenuiviridae).

Collective electrodynamics I [PDF]
Standard results of electromagnetic theory are derived from the direct interaction of macroscopic quantum systems; the only assumptions used are the Einstein-deBroglie relations, the discrete nature of charge, the Green's function for the vector ...

Classical swine fever virus (CSFV) shares high antigenic homology with other members of the genus Pestivirus. Because several pestivirus species can also infect swine, eliciting cross-reactive antibodies, it is important to define CSFV-specific epitopes ...

Running coupling expansion for the renormalized $\phi^4_4$-trajectory from renormalization invariance [PDF]
We formulate a renormalized running coupling expansion for the $\beta$--function and the potential of the renormalized $\phi^4$--trajectory on four dimensional Euclidean space-time. Renormalization invariance is used as a first principle. No reference is

Renormalized Path Integral in Quantum Mechanics [PDF]
We obtain direct, finite, descriptions of a renormalized quantum mechanical system with no reference to ultraviolet cutoffs and running coupling constants, in both the Hamiltonian and path integral pictures.

Dimensional continuation without perturbation theory [PDF]
A formula is proposed for continuing physical correlation functions to non-integer numbers of dimensions, expressing them as infinite weighted sums over the same correlation functions in arbitrary integer dimensions.
