Improved Direct Ink Writing of Liquid Metal Foams via Liquid Additives

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
The ability to pattern liquid metal is useful for making soft electrical and thermal devices. Dispensing liquid metal from a nozzle naturally results in the formation of spheroidal droplets, making direct‐write printing challenging. Liquid metal foams containing pockets of air can extrude as filaments, albeit inconsistently.

Advancing Energy Materials by In Situ Atomic Scale Methods

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, Volume 15, Issue 11, March 18, 2025.
Progress in in situ atomic scale methods leads to an improved understanding of new and advanced energy materials, where a local understanding of complex, inhomogeneous systems or interfaces down to the atomic scale and quantum level is required. Topics from photovoltaics, dissipation losses, phase transitions, and chemical energy conversion are ...

Enhancing Ion‐Electron Transport in Positive Electrode of Solid‐State Lithium Metal Batteries With Multifunctional Catholyte Made of Polymer Mixed Ionic‐Electronic Conductor PEDOT:PSSTFSI and Li3InCl6

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
A mixed ion‐electron conducting polymer binder, PEDOT:PSSTFSI, enhances both ionic and electronic transport in NMC‐based positive electrode composite (PEC) for ASSBs. Optimal polymer loading (0.33 wt.% in PEC) provides the most balanced transport, with an effective conductivities (σel/σion) ratio closest to unity, enabling high discharge capacity at 1 ...

Carbon Sequestration in Agricultural Soils [PDF]

open access: yes
Although it is common to alternate between till and no-till practices, past research has considered farmers’ tillage options to be limited to the dichotomous choice of whether or not to switch to a long-term no-till regime.

Designing Cost‐Effective Carbon Payments to Induce Cellulosic Feedstock Production for Sustainable Aviation Fuel

open access: yesApplied Economic Perspectives and Policy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Perennial bioenergy crops, such as miscanthus and switchgrass, and crop residues have the potential to scale up sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production and mitigate carbon emissions. However, high establishment costs, delayed returns, and risk–return profiles that diverge from those of conventional crops can hinder incentives to adopt ...

THE IMPACT OF CURRENT COTTON PRICE AND PRODUCTION COSTS ON SKIP-ROW COTTON [PDF]

open access: yes
According to conventional wisdom, low prices favor skip-row planting patterns while high prices favor solid planted cotton. Production costs have been trending upward for many years.
