Rational Fine‐Tuning of MOF Pore Metrics: Enhanced SO2 Capture and Sensing with Optimal Multi‐Site Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A pore tuning strategy to amplify the multi‐site MOF‐SO2 interactions is proposed to achieve an enhanced trace SO2 capture and chemiresistive sensing in highly stable isostructural DMOFs by annelating benzene rings. This work provides a facile strategy to achieve tailor‐made stable MOF materials for specific multifunctional applications.

Liver Transcriptome Analysis Reveals a Potential Mechanism of Heat Stress Increasing Susceptibility to Salmonella Typhimurium in Chickens

open access: yesBiology
Salmonella infection poses a serious threat to the poultry industry, causing significant economic losses. Under global warming conditions, the underlying molecular mechanisms by which heat stress affects bacterial infections in poultry remain unclear ...

The Effects of Air Pollutants, Particulate Matter 10 (PM10), Sulphur Dioxide (SO2) and Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2), on Covid-19 Cases in Indonesia

open access: yesSustainability Science and Resources, 2022
This study aims to analyse the effects of air pollutants on the number of COVID-19 cases in Indonesia. Three pollutants, i.e. Particulate matter 10 (PM10), Sulphur dioxide (SO2) and Nitrogen dioxide (NO2), were analysed.

Effect of changing NOx lifetime on the seasonality and long-term trends of satellite-observed tropospheric NO2 columns over China

open access: yesAtmospheric Chemistry and Physics, 2019
. Satellite observations of tropospheric NO2 columns are extensively used to infer trends in anthropogenic emissions of nitrogen oxides (NOx≡NO+NO2), but this may be complicated by trends in NOx lifetime. Here we use 2004–2018 observations from the Ozone

Wavelength‐Dependent Differential Amplification of Raman Scattering by Chiral Gold Nanorods for Multiplexed Encoding

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The SERS spectra of reporter molecules adsorbed on chiral gold nanorods depends on the handedness of circularly polarized light (CPL‐SERS). The bisignate plasmonic CD spectra of chiral nanorods provides wavelength‐dependent CPL‐SERS. Selective discrimination of chiral nanorod handedness and different Raman reporters allow highly sensitive codification ...

Seasonal trends of the stable nitrogen isotope ratio in particulate nitrogen compounds and their gaseous precursors in Akita, Japan

open access: yesTellus: Series B, Chemical and Physical Meteorology, 2019
Particulate matter (PM) can have adverse effects on human health. Moreover, because the mechanisms of PM formation and behavior in the atmosphere are notably complicated, to reduce PM concentrations effectively and meet environmental standards, source ...

Air pollution modelling for birth cohorts: a time-space regression model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
To investigate air pollution effects during pregnancy or in the first weeks of life, models are needed that capture both the spatial and temporal variability of air pollution exposures.; We developed a time-space exposure model for ambient NO2 ...

Selective Benzene Capture by Metal‐Organic Frameworks

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) hold significant potential for capturing benzene from air emissions and hydrocarbon mixtures in liquid phases. This capability stems from their precisely engineered structures, versatile chemistries, and diverse binding interactions.
