Janus‐Type Photophysics of Rotational Isomers in a Diphenylanthracene Dimer

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, Accepted Article.
Organic molecular dimers serve as valuable model systems for manipulating and exploring interchromophore interactions. However, the structural flexibility introduced by linker or chromophore rotation gives rise to conformational isomers with distinct atomic arrangements, complicating the interpretation of photophysical processes.

Low Molecular Weight Multistate Photoswitches Based on Simple Norbornadiene‐Triazine Scaffolds

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, Accepted Article.
We have synthesized and characterized a series of simple norbornadiene(NBD)‐triazine architectures including multistate photoswitches with unprecedentedly high information storage densities. The simple mono‐NBDs served as suitable model systems to investigate the underlying absorption and switching characteristics.

Synthesis and Reactivity of a Mono‐Coordinated Triplet Bismuthinidene

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, EarlyView.
Dehydrogenation of Ar*BiH2 3 yielded the kinetically stabilized mono‐coordinated triplet bismuthinidene 4, which was structurally characterized by sc‐XRD and whose electronic character was analyzed by quantum chemical calculations. Bismuthinidene 4 reacts with alkyl halides with oxidative addition to bismuthanes Ar*Bi(R)X, which react with LiAlH4 to ...

Unsaturated Phosphine Oxides for Modular Antibody Rebridging and Single Reagent Peptide‐Cyclisation‐Bioconjugation

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, Accepted Article.
Achieving modular, selective and homogeneous protein modifications is of utmost importance for the design of next generation biopharmaceuticals; especially in the context of antibody‐drug conjugates (ADCs). Here, we introduce unsaturated phosphine oxides as versatile triple‐reactive reagents, allowing orthogonal chemoselective bioconjugation schemes ...
