Spinel‐Layered Heterostructure Enables Reversible Oxygen Redox in Lithium Manganese Oxide

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, EarlyView.
A layered lithium manganese oxide with spinel heterostructures (LMO‐SH) was prepared via a novel synthetic method. It has lithium‐rich local environments and exhibits reversible oxygen redox activities, distinct from the conventional Li2MnO3. The spinel heterostructure provides extra Li+ pathways to activate the bulk activity and traps oxygen molecules

Collision‐Induced Fragmentation of Oligosaccharides: Mechanistic Insights for Mass Spectrometry‐Based Glycomics

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, Accepted Article.
Structural alterations in oligosaccharide structure are often associated with disease, positioning clinical glycomics an emerging tool for diagnostics. This is most commonly achieved using a controlled collision‐induced dissociation (CID) of larger oligosaccharides into fragments and measuring their mass in a mass spectrometer. Due to the complexity of

Isotope Engineering of Tetraphenylethylene: Aggregate‐Dependent Enhancement of Luminescence Efficiency

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, Accepted Article.
Aggregation‐induced emission (AIE) luminogens, exemplified by tetraphenylethylene (TPE), exhibit enhanced fluorescence in aggregated states and have promising applications in display, photodetectors, fluorescent probes, bioimaging, and biomedicine. This study investigates the influence of varying degrees of deuteration on the photophysical properties ...

Surface Protected Organozirconium Catalyzes C–H Alumination of Saturated Hydrocarbons

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, Accepted Article.
Surface grafted organozirconium‐catalyzes C–H/Et–Al exchange reactions, involving saturated hydrocarbons and AlEt3, to afford organoaluminum compounds and ethane. The Zr(OtBu)3@SiO2‐Al2O3‐700 (1) catalyst contains monopodal ≡SiO–Zr(OtBu)3 and only a few residual silanols (<5%).

Molecular‐Metallic Binding Characteristics of the Intermetalloid f‐/p‐Block Cluster [(La@In2Bi11)2Bi2]6–

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, Accepted Article.
Main goals of contemporary research in chemistry are to create new materials with unique properties and to understand the chemical bonding in them, especially between metal atoms in larger structures. The isolation of a single lanthanide atom in a In/Bi cage offers a non‐standard bonding situation, which deserves thorough exploration.
