Covalent Organic Frameworks for Photocatalytic CO2 Reduction: Metal Integration Principles, Strategies and Functions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) with metals have been recognized as versatile platforms for photocatalytic CO2 reduction (CO2PRR). Herein, an overview of metal integration strategies for COFs is systematically summarized. Regulatory mechanisms and structure–activity relationships between metal integration and COF‐based CO2PRR are emphasized.

Experimental study of THGEM detector with mini-rim

open access: yes, 2011
The gas gain and energy resolution of single and double THGEM detectors (5{\times}5cm2 effective area) with mini-rims (rim is less than 10{\mu}m) were studied.

Noble Gases in Mantle Plumes

open access: yesScience, 2001
Trieloff et al . ([1][1]) provided neon isotope data to argue that mantle neon originates as a trapped component in meteorites rather than having a pristine solar composition. That finding, if true, has important consequences for understanding the mechanism of volatile input into the mantle ...

Copper‐Based Crystalline‐Metallic Glass Composite Thin Films: A Novel Material with Enhanced Strength and Thermally Stable Nanotwins

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A Cu‐based crystal‐glass composite with high‐density twins is identified by a fast screening technique using combinatorial sputtering together with XRD and nanoindentation mapping. This bamboo‐like structure demonstrates homogenous plastic flow and retains high strength during in situ high temperature tests, up to 1 GPa at 550°C, owing to those ...

Multiple scattering of matter waves: an analytic model of the refractive index for atomic and molecular gases

open access: yes, 2010
We present an analytic model of the refractive index for matter waves propagating through atomic or molecular gases. The model, which combines a WKB treatment of the long range attraction with the Fraunhofer model treatment of the short range repulsion ...

Unveiling Multidimensional Physicochemical Design Principles for Tissue Processing Hydrogels

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study establishes a materials‐based design framework for polymer hydrogels in tissue clearing, linking physicochemical properties to performance in tissue processing, labeling, and imaging. By analyzing rheology, swelling, porosity, antibody diffusion, mechanical performance, and thermochemical stability across platforms, this work provides a ...

Far-ultraviolet signatures of the 3He(n,tp) reaction in noble gas mixtures

open access: yes, 2010
Previous work showed that the 3He(n,tp) reaction in a cell of 3He at atmospheric pressure generated tens of far-ultraviolet photons per reacted neutron. Here we report amplification of that signal by factors of 1000 and more when noble gases are added to

Deciphering Small Molecule Diffusion Parameters Across Light Responsive Polymersome Membranes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Light‐responsive polymersomes bearing donor–acceptor Stenhouse adducts (DASAs) enable programmable control over small‐molecule transport across synthetic membranes. By systematically varying DASA density, an optimal functionalization regime is identified that maximizes light‐gated permeability.

Solar-wind derived light noble gases in micrometeorites collected at the Dome Fuji Station: Characterization by stepped pyrolysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Noble gases in micrometeorite-bearing particles were characterized by the total-melting and stepped-heating analyses, in order to determine average compositions of light noble gases of micrometeorites collected at the Dome Fuji Station.
