Noble gases as proxies of mean ocean temperature: sensitivity studies using a climate model of reduced complexity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Past global mean ocean temperature may be reconstructed from measurements of atmospheric noble gas concentrations in ice core bubbles. Assuming conservation of noble gases in the atmosphere-ocean system, the total concentration within the ocean mostly ...

Electrode and Microstructure Dependence of Oxygen Diffusion in Ferroelectric Hafnium Zirconium Oxide Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Significant nanoscale oxygen diffusion coefficient variations are measured in ferroelectric hafnium zirconium oxide films with grain boundaries and electrode interfaces exhibiting values 104 times larger than the grain cores. Overall coefficients are 10X larger for films prepared with metal nitride electrodes compared to refractory metals. New insights

Mathematical Modeling of Conversion CO To CO2 in Batch Mode CO2 Laser System [PDF]

open access: yesEngineering and Technology Journal, 2008
The oxidation of carbon monoxide CO over supported noble metal catalyst is animportant part of the catalytic control in sealed-off TEA CO2 laser system.

Long‐Range Coordination Environment Modulates Single‐Atom Local States and Systemic Impact on CO2 Photoconversion

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Terminal groups on Cu porphyrins modulate the electronic states of single‐atom Cu centers through a long‐range electronic effect, without altering the Cu coordination geometry. Meanwhile, a multi‐descriptor framework is established that incorporates porphyrin regulation, hybrid catalyst properties, and CO2 photoreduction capabilities.

Venus Atmospheric Composition In Situ Data: A Compilation

open access: yesEarth and Space Science, 2019
The Venus atmosphere is of significant interest yet only rudimentary solid data have been gathered about its composition and chemistry. These measurements are scattered through time and place and are limited by parameters such as resolution and error ...

Origin and evolution of reactive and noble gases dissolved in matrix pore water [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Reactive and noble gases dissolved in matrix pore water of low permeable crystalline bedrock were successfully extracted and characterized for the fist time based on drillcore samples from the Olkiluoto investigation site (SW Finland).

Positron scattering from noble gases [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We have extended the nonrelativistic convergent close-coupling (CCC) method to the calculation of positron scattering from noble gases within the single-centre approximation. Good agreement is found with the available measurements of total cross sections

A Bilayered Inorganic‐Metal Interface Enables Highly Reversible Aluminum Deposition for Long‐Life Aqueous Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A gradient M/MOx (M = Sn, Cu, Cd) synergistic interphase was constructed on Al via a one‐step displacement reaction. This interphase leverages high aluminophilicity and ion‐buffering capability to accelerate desolvation, enhance Al3+ transport, and suppress side reactions, enabling ultrastable symmetric cell operation at 0.05 mA cm−2 for 1800 h with an

Detectability of H2-Ar and H2-Ne Dimers in Jovian Atmospheres [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Astronomy and Space Sciences, 1997
The detection of jovian hydrogen-hydrogen dimers through the clear telluric 2-micron window(Kim et al. 1995, Trafton et al. 1997) suggests possibility to detect noble gases in the form of dimer with hydrogen in jovian atmospheres.

New Perspectives in the Noble Gas Chemistry Opened by Electrophilic Anions

open access: yesFrontiers in Chemistry, 2020
Binding of noble gases (NGs) is commonly considered to be the realm of highly reactive electophiles with cationic or at least non-charged character. Herein, we summarize our latest results evidencing that the incorporation of a strongly electrophilic ...
