The Noctuoidea (Lepidoptera) described by Linnaeus
Zoological Journal of the Linnean Society, 1993Abstract Linnacus described 166 nominal species of Noctuoidea, of which 144 (86.7%) are currently used as valid names, 18 are synonyms, one is a homonym and three taxa remain unknown. Seven taxa were described solely from illustrations in contemporary literature.

A Catalogue of Indian Euteliidae (Lepidoptera, Noctuoidea)
ZootaxaWe present a catalogue of 104 valid species in 20 genera and two subfamilies i.e., Euteliinae and Stictopterinae of Indian Euteliidae, which represent 19.25% of the global Euteliidae (540 species). Out of 104 Indian species, Euteliinae are represented by 52 species in 14 genera and Stictopterinae by 52 species in six genera.

A catalogue of the Erebidae of India (Lepidoptera, Noctuoidea)
ZootaxaThe present catalogue comprises 2,203 valid species in 562 genera of Erebidae from India. Of the 19 known subfamilies of Erebidae (including Strepsimaninae as incertae sedis), all are represented in the subcontinent except for the New World subfamily Scolecocampinae. Arctiinae are the most diverse, with 737 species, and Eulepidotinae and Strepsimaninae

Insect Systematics & Evolution, 1985AbstractAs part of critical review of the Geometroidea and Noctuoidea described by Linnaeus the species described by Carl Clerck (1710-1765) are reviewed. Clerck (1759) described 25 nominal species of Geometroidea and Noctuoidea, all of Swedish origin, 22 of which are currently regarded as valid.
