Nighttime Swimming Behavior of a Mesopelagic Fish

open access: yesFrontiers in Marine Science, 2019
Nocturnal migration of mesopelagic fish into surface waters is well-documented. Yet, although there is increasing evidence of individual-based deviations from average population migrations and of the importance of small-scale individual behavior for ...

Recurrent fexuprazan‐induced liver injury following unintentional re‐exposure

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Fexuprazan, a potassium‐competitive acid blocker, is increasingly used for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease in South Korea. While generally well tolerated, data regarding its hepatotoxic potential are scarce. We report a case of idiosyncratic drug‐induced liver injury in a 61‐year‐old woman following 2 months of fexuprazan therapy.

Baudelaire nocturne

open access: yes, 2017
La nuit apparaît comme le lieu de la communication entre l’homme et la nature, mais les synesthésies déséquilibrées des Correspondances déforment ce que Jankélévitch appelle « les noces de la conscience et de la nature ». Clinical Trials With Pragmatic Elements: A Review of Use Cases and Real‐World Data Utilization

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology &Therapeutics, EarlyView.
Clinical trials with pragmatic elements can capture diverse patient populations, enable efficient follow‐up, and reflect routine clinical practices; yet there is limited understanding of their design features, characteristics, and use of real‐world data (RWD). Based on a targeted search of PubMed/EMBASE (Jan‐2016 to Jul‐2024), a review was conducted to

Nocturnal emissions [PDF]

open access: yesEMBO reports, 2011
Howy argues that sophisticated communication technology is no substitute for the face‐to‐face contacts that are vital to scientific work. Instead of ever‐fancier electronic devices, we should be focusing on making travel more efficient and humane.

Whitings in the Red Sea

open access: yesThe Depositional Record, EarlyView.
We present the first documentation of whitings in the Red Sea, observed in a lagoonal environment. These events are linked to cascading offshore dense waters that liberate trapped sea floor nutrients, triggering algal blooms and elevating alkalinity, which is buffered by direct CaCO3 precipitation—contributing to the accumulation of aragonite mud in ...

Nocturnal Cleaning Interactions Between the Giant Moray (Gymnothorax javanicus) and the Clear Cleaner Shrimp (Urocaridella antonbruunii)

open access: yesEcology and Evolution
We observed a novel, nocturnal cleaning interaction between a cleaner shrimp (Genus Urocaridella) and the giant moray eel (Gymnothorax javanicus) on a lagoonal patch reef in Moorea, French Polynesia.
