NOCTURNAL ASTHMA

Clinics in Chest Medicine, 1992
The nocturnal worsening of asthma is a common problem that can have significant related morbidity and mortality. There are many circadian biologic rhythms that contribute to the increased nocturnal bronchial reactivity and decrement in lung function.

Evaluation of nocturnal bladder capacity and nocturnal urine volume in nocturnal enuresis

Journal of Pediatric Urology, 2014
To investigate the diagnostic accuracies of maximum voided volume (MVV) and first morning urine osmolality and compare these with accuracies of nocturnal bladder capacity (NBC) and nocturnal urine volume, respectively, in children with nocturnal enuresis.A total of 70 children with nocturnal enuresis were assessed (mean age 7.1 ± 2.2 years).

Pollination of Campomanesia phaea (Myrtaceae) by night-active bees: a new nocturnal pollination system mediated by floral scent.

Plant biology, 2017
Bees are the most important diurnal pollinators of angiosperms. In several groups of bees a nocturnal/crepuscular habit developed, yet little is known about their role in pollination and whether some plants are adapted specifically to these bees. We used

Nocturnal Enuresis

Primary Care: Clinics in Office Practice, 1984
The answer to nocturnal enuresis is nocturnal self-awakening. Enuresis alarms teach this skill and, therefore, have the highest cure rate and the lowest relapse rate of any intervention. An alarm costs the same as a 2-week supply of desmopressin. Alarms can be used anytime from age 5 onward if the child elects to use one.

Nocturnal enuresis

The Indian Journal of Pediatrics, 2003
Nocturnal enuresis is a benign condition, yet needs treatment to relieve the child and parents of the accompanying anxiety and the stigma attached to it. It is defined as normal nearly complete evacuation of the bladder at a wrong place and time at least twice a month after the fifth year of life.

Nocturnal enuresis

Current Opinion in Urology, 2002
The purpose of this review is to highlight and comment upon important areas of enuresis research.Current areas of pathophysiological focus are nocturnal urine production, in which alternative mechanisms other than deficient vasopressin secretion has been implicated in some patients. Bladder reservoir function has gained renewed interest, and has proved

Nocturnal asthma

Current Opinion in Pulmonary Medicine, 2012
The aim is to review pathophysiological mechanisms and treatment of nocturnal asthma.Physiologic changes accompanying sleep, as well as the nocturnal phase of circadian rhythms, may have an adverse effect on asthma control. Chronotherapeutic principles, which consider circadian variation in relevant biologic rhythms, may improve asthma outcomes ...
