Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma Originating in a Male With Thyroglossal Duct Cyst: Case Presentation and Literature Review

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Papillary carcinoma arising in a thyroglossal duct cyst is rare and often indistinguishable from benign disease. We report a male patient with progressive cyst changes leading to diagnosis and successful Sistrunk‐based management, highlighting the need for close, appropriate imaging and individualized treatment in midline neck masses.

Targeting the nuclear export receptor exportin‐1 in acute myeloid leukaemia: From biology to clinical translation

open access: yesClinical and Translational Medicine, Volume 16, Issue 5, May 2026.
• XPO1 hyperactivation promotes leukaemogenesis by altering nucleocytoplasmic transport and transcriptional control in acute myeloid leukaemia (AML). • Selinexor and eltanexor show preferential activity in NPM1‐mutated, DEK::NUP214‐positive and SF3B1‐mutated myeloid neoplasms.

Seismic Fragility Analysis of Containment Structures in Nuclear Power Plants Considering Alkali‐Silica Reaction

open access: yesEarthquake Engineering &Structural Dynamics, Volume 55, Issue 6, Page 1467-1487, May 2026.
ABSTRACT This study quantifies the influence of alkali‐silica reaction (ASR) on the seismic fragility of prestressed concrete containment structures in nuclear power plants (NPPs). Global collapse was considered as the governing failure mode to maintain consistency with current risk assessment frameworks, and was captured using a finite element model ...

Astragaloside IV Reprograms Spatial Glycolytic Metabolism in Diabetic Kidney: A Microenvironment‐Targeted Immunometabolic Therapeutic Strategy

open access: yesFood Frontiers, Volume 7, Issue 3, May 2026.
Diabetic nephropathy (DN) is driven by spatially organized immunometabolic dysfunction. Integrating high‐resolution spatial transcriptomics (10× Visium HD) and metabolomics (MALDI‐MSI), we mapped a pathogenic glycolytic blockade within diabetic kidney microenvironments.

Expression of Programmed Death‐Ligand 1 in Cervical Cancer: Correlation With Histologic Subtypes and Clinicopathological Features

open access: yesImmunity, Inflammation and Disease, Volume 14, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Cervical cancer remains a significant global health challenge, with squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) and adenocarcinoma representing its predominant histologic types. Programmed death‐ligand 1 (PD‐L1) expression in cervical cancer has been implicated in tumor immune evasion, yet its prognostic significance remains unclear.

Demyelinating Leprosy Neuropathy: An Unusual and Misleading Electrophysiological Pattern

open access: yesMuscle &Nerve, Volume 73, Issue 5, Page 898-905, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction/Aims Peripheral neuropathy, especially mononeuropathy multiplex, is a frequent manifestation of leprosy. Electrodiagnostic studies (EDX) usually show predominant axonal involvement. In this study, we report patients with prominent demyelinating abnormalities consistent with the diagnosis of chronic inflammatory demyelinating ...
