Mechanically sensitive HSF1 is a key regulator of left-right symmetry breaking in zebrafish embryos

open access: yesiScience, 2023
Summary: The left-right symmetry breaking of vertebrate embryos requires nodal flow. However, the molecular mechanisms that mediate the asymmetric gene expression regulation under nodal flow remain elusive. Here, we report that heat shock factor 1 (HSF1)

C-MYC Protein Expression and High Ki-67 Proliferative Index are Predictives of Disease Relapse in Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma

open access: yesAsian Pacific Journal of Cancer Biology, 2021
Objective: To evaluate the status of C-MYC protein expression and Ki-67 proliferative index and to clarify their role in predicting relapse of diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBL).

Data from Embryonic Protein Nodal Promotes Breast Cancer Vascularization

open access: yes, 2023

Abstract
Tumor vascularization is requisite for breast cancer progression, and high microvascular density in tumors is a poor prognostic indicator. Patients bearing breast cancers expressing human embryonic stem cell (hESC)-associated genes similarly exhibit high mortality rates, and the expression of embryonic proteins is associated

The EGF-CFC Protein One-Eyed Pinhead Is Essential for Nodal Signaling [PDF]

open access: yesCell, 1999
The zebrafish EGF-CFC gene one-eyed pinhead (oep) is required zygotically for the formation of the ventral neuroectoderm, endoderm, and prechordal plate. Here we report that embryos lacking both maternal and zygotic Oep activity are defective in germ layer formation, organizer development, and the positioning of the anterior-posterior axis.

An essential role for maternal control of Nodal signaling

open access: yeseLife, 2013
Growth factor signaling is essential for pattern formation, growth, differentiation, and maintenance of stem cell pluripotency. Nodal-related signaling factors are required for axis formation and germ layer specification from sea urchins to mammals ...

Protein Content of Grains on Tillers at Each Nodal Position in Wheat Plants.

open access: diamondJapanese Journal of Crop Science, 2002
The protein content of wheat grains on the productive tillers at each nodal position and order were investigated to establish the cultivation technique for improvement of the crude protein content of wheat grains. Protein content of the grains widely varied with the position of tillers in the plant.

Maternal Nodal inversely affects NODAL and STOX1 expression in the fetal placenta

open access: yesFrontiers in Genetics, 2013
Nodal, a secreted signaling protein from the TGFβ-super family plays a vital role during early embryonic development. Recently, it was found that maternal decidua-specific Nodal knockout mice show intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR) and preterm birth.

Genetic Analysis Reveals a Hierarchy of Interactions between Polycystin-Encoding Genes and Genes Controlling Cilia Function during Left-Right Determination.

open access: yesPLoS Genetics, 2016
During mammalian development, left-right (L-R) asymmetry is established by a cilia-driven leftward fluid flow within a midline embryonic cavity called the node.

European guidelines from the EHTG and ESCP for Lynch syndrome: an updated third edition of the Mallorca guidelines based on gene and gender

open access: yesBJS (British Journal of Surgery), EarlyView., 2020
Recommendations for clinical and molecular identification of LS, surgical and endoscopic management of LS‐associated colorectal cancer and preventive measures for cancer were produced. The emphasis was on surgical and gastroenterological aspects of the cancer spectrum.

The Interaction Between Nodal, Hypoxia-Inducible Factor 1 Alpha, and Thrombospondin 1 Promotes Luteolysis in Equine Corpus Luteum

open access: yesFrontiers in Endocrinology, 2019
The regulation of corpus luteus (CL) luteolysis is a complex process involving a myriad of factors. Previously, we have shown the involvement of Nodal in functional luteolysis in mares.
