Multiplicity of positive and nodal solutions for scalar field equations

open access: yesJournal of Differential Equations, 2014
The authors are concerned with the scalar field equation \(-\Delta u+a(x) u=|u|^{p-2}u\) in \({\mathbb R}^N\), where \(N\geq 2 ...

Locational-based Coupling of Electricity Markets: Benefits from Coordinating Unit Commitment and Balancing Markets

open access: yes, 2011
We formulate a series of stochastic models for committing and dispatching electric generators subject to transmission limits. The models are used to estimate the benefits of electricity locational marginal pricing (LMP) that arise from better ...

Type‐II Dirac Fermions in Monolayer In2O: Interplay of Magnetotransport, Spin Hall Effect, and Superconductivity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
First‐principles calculations reveal that monolayer In2O${\rm In}_2{\rm O}$ hosts type‐II Dirac fermions near the Fermi level, which split into Weyl points under spin‐orbit coupling. The material exhibits negative and giant magnetoresistance, a pronounced spin Hall effect, and phonon‐mediated superconductivity at 1.5 K, establishing it as a unique ...

Nodal curves and Riccati solutions of Painlevé equations

open access: yesKyoto Journal of Mathematics, 2004
In this paper, we study Riccati solutions of Painlevé equations from a view point of geometry of Okamoto-Painlevé pairs $(S,Y)$. After establishing the correspondence between (rational) nodal curves on $S-Y$ and Riccati solutions, we give the complete classification of the configurations of nodal curves on $S-Y$ for each Okamoto-Painlevé pair $(S, Y)$.

Combining Spatial Multi‐Omics Data to Decipher Spatial Domains and Elucidate Cell Heterogeneity Based on Self‐Supervised Graph Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A self‐supervised multi‐view graph fusion framework integrates spatial multi‐omics, excelling in domain identification and denoising. It reconstructs spatial pseudo‐expression, jointly analyzes multi‐omics data, infers RNA velocity, predicts spatial omics features from single‐cell multi‐omics, and detects spatially dark genes and transcription factors,

Direct solution of the mathematical adjoint equations for an interface current nodal formulation [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
A numerical method for directly computing the mathematical adjoint flux moments and partial currents for the hexagonal-Z geometry interface current nodal formulation in the DIF3D code is described.

Unraveling the Power of Disorder: A Bioinspired Cuttlebone Structure With Superior Strength, Energy Absorption and Isotropy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Cuttlebone‐inspired architected metamaterials introduce controlled structural disorder to simultaneously enhance strength, energy absorption, and compressive stability. Tunable disorder suppresses shear anisotropy, outperforms periodic lattices, and establishes discrete randomness as a robust route to high‐performance lightweight mechanical ...

Spectrum, global bifurcation and nodal solutions to Kirchhoff-type equations

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2018
In this article, we consider a Dancer-type unilateral global bifurcation for the Kirchhoff-type problem $$\displaylines{ -\Big(a+b\int_0^1 | u'|^2\,dx\Big)u'' =\lambda u+h(x,u,\lambda)\quad\text{in } (0,1),\cr u(0)=u(1)=0.

A Note on Massively Parallel Implementation of FETI for the Solution of Contact Problems

open access: yesAdvances in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, 2017
The paper deals with the solution of large multibody contact problems using massively parallel computers and domain decomposition methods. These methods can solve the problems discretized by billions of nodal variables at the cost nearly proportional to ...
