The Role of Chemotherapy in Pediatric Myoepithelial Carcinoma: A Systematic Review of the Literature

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Myoepithelial carcinoma (MEC) in pediatric patients is a rare and aggressive malignancy characterized by heterogeneous morphology and variable molecular features. The optimal role of chemotherapy remains unclear. We conducted a systematic review according to PRISMA 2020 guidelines to evaluate chemotherapy in pediatric and young‐adult patients ...

Nephrogenic Rests/Nephroblastomatosis in Patients With Unilateral Wilms Tumor Are Not Associated With an Increased Risk of Relapse: An Analysis of Patients Treated on the SIOP‐WT‐2001 Protocol in the SIOP‐UK‐CCLG and SIOP‐GPOH Studies (2001–2022)

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Nephrogenic rests (NRs) and nephroblastomatosis (NBM) are precursor lesions for development of Wilms tumor (WT). Their association with the risk of relapse has not been properly assessed, partly due to misunderstanding of their diagnostic criteria and terminology.

Critical nodes selection based on trust evaluation in Ad Hoc networks

open access: yesTongxin xuebao, 2014
There are some critical nodes in Ad Hoc networks, and the failure of these critical nodes can critically affect the performance of the network. For the aim of selecting the important and trusted critical nodes in Ad Hoc networks, the definition of critical ...

What is a Fog Node A Tutorial on Current Concepts towards a Common Definition

open access: yesCoRR, 2016
Fog computing has emerged as a promising technology that can bring the cloud applications closer to the physical IoT devices at the network edge. While it is widely known what cloud computing is, and how data centers can build the cloud infrastructure and how applications can make use of this infrastructure, there is no common picture on what fog ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Sonographic Examination of the Neck after Definitive Radiotherapy for Node-Positive Oropharyngeal Cancer [PDF]

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Neuroradiology, 2011
Radiographic determination of viable disease in cervical adenopathy following RT for head and neck cancer can be challenging. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the utility of US, with or without FNA, in regard to the postradiotherapy effects on documented metastatic adenopathy in patients with oropharyngeal cancer. This study included 133 ...
