Ocean Bottom Nodes Ultrasonic Physical Experiment

Proceedings, 2016
The current efforts in the hydrocarbon industry have been concentrating in maximize oil and gas production from existing fields as the task of find new reservoirs becomes expansive and difficult. Hence, converted-waves are used in partnership with P-waves for a more complete understanding of reservoirs’ properties and geometrical arrangement.

Simulation of the physical performance of optical packet switching nodes

Journal of Shanghai University (English Edition), 2002
A graphical and visual simulation system for the study of optical packet switching (OPS) nodes is accomplished. With the simulation system, the effect on physical performance — bit error rate (BER) due to a variety of factors such as the crosstalk parameters of OPS nodes, number of cascaded OPS nodes, length of optical output buffer, traffic load and ...

Research on the Chord Algorithm Based on Physical Location and Node Ability [PDF]

open access: possible2013 5th International Conference on Intelligent Human-Machine Systems and Cybernetics, 2013
An important problem that confronts P2P network is to efficiently search the node that stores a particular data. Chord is a distributed lookup protocol that addresses the problem. However, the chord protocol has not yet efficiently resolved the problem.

Physical characterization challenges in 45 nm technology node

2008 15th International Symposium on the Physical and Failure Analysis of Integrated Circuits, 2008
The advent of 45 nm technology poses a real challenge to device physical characterization. The shrinkage in dimension makes the characterization of some critical structures very difficult or impossible. The adoption of ultra low K materials even worsens the situation. In this paper, an attempt is made to address some of the challenging characterization

Privacy preserving node selection: A physical layer approach

2015 49th Annual Conference on Information Sciences and Systems (CISS), 2015
Distributed monitoring and sensing networks are ubiquitous in current technological systems. Security and efficiency of the data aggregation and fusion process are key determinants in the adoption of these systems. The principal thesis investigated in this paper is the role of privacy in providing security guarantees for such networks.

Physical Interpretation of Fictitious Nodes Encountered in the Node Method of Vibration Analysis

Journal of Applied Mechanics, 1962
A method of interpreting apparently meaningless solutions of the system of equations encountered when solving a vibration problem by the node method is presented in this paper. These solutions are associated with fictitious nodes connected to the structure by a device called a structural doublet. An illustrative problem is solved.

Malicious node detection via physical layer data

2010 Conference Record of the Forty Fourth Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems and Computers, 2010
There are many mechanisms that can cause inadequate or unreliable information in sensor networks. A user of the network might be interested in detecting and classifying specific sensors nodes causing these problems. There are many network layer based trust mechanisms in the literature to assess these issues; in contrast this work develops physical ...

Physical Verification at Advanced Technology Nodes and the Road Ahead

Proceedings of the 2020 International Symposium on Physical Design, 2020
In spite of "doomsday" expectations, Moore's Law is alive and well. Semiconductor manufacturing and design companies, as well as the Electronic Design Automation (EDA) industry have been pushing ahead to bring more functionality to satisfy more aggressive space/power/performance requirements.

Efficient physical intrusion detection in Internet of Things: A Node deployment approach

Computer Networks, 2019
Abstract In Internet of Things (IoT), intrusion detection plays an important role in many applications for detecting malicious intruders. The intruder can be, an unexpected physically moving entity, invading an area under surveillance, or an adversary in a battlefield.
