TacScope: A Miniaturized Vision‐Based Tactile Sensor for Surgical Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
TacScope is a compact, vision‐based tactile sensor designed for robot‐assisted surgery. By leveraging a curved elastomer surface with pressure‐sensitive particle redistribution, it captures high‐resolution 3D tactile feedback. TacScope enables accurate tumor detection and shape classification beneath soft tissue phantoms, offering a scalable, low‐cost ...

Osmotic stress activates nif and fix genes and induces the Rhizobium tropici CIAT 899 Nod factor production via NodD2 by up-regulation of the nodA2 operon and the nodA3 gene.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2019
The symbiosis between rhizobia and legumes is characterized by a complex molecular dialogue in which the bacterial NodD protein plays a major role due to its capacity to activate the expression of the nodulation genes in the presence of appropiate ...

Suppression of Root Nodule Formation by Artificial Expression of the TrEnodDR1 (Coat Protein of White clover cryptic virus 1) Gene in Lotus japonicus

open access: yesMolecular Plant-Microbe Interactions, 2005
TrEnodDR1 (Trifolium repens early nodulin downregulation 1) encodes a coat protein of White clover cryptic virus 1. Its expression in white clover was down-regulated at the time when root nodules formed.

PD‐1 Inhibits CD4+ TRM‐Mediated cDC1 Mobilization via Suppressing JAML in Human NSCLC

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CD4+ tissue‐resident memory T cells (TRMs) in non‐small cell lung cancer recruit conventional type 1 dendritic cells via XCL1‐XCR1 signaling, orchestrating antitumor immunity. The costimulatory molecule JAML is essential for this process. PD‐1 blockade restores JAML expression and cDC1 mobilization, while JAML agonists synergize with anti‐PD‐1 therapy,

Engineered Mesenchymal Stem Cell–NK Cell Complexes for Spatially Targeted and Functionally Revitalized Cancer Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
IL‐15‐engineered stem cell–NK cell complexes, assembled via bioorthogonal chemistry, enable effective lung cancer immunotherapy. Abstract Natural killer (NK) cells represent a powerful immunotherapeutic strategy due to their intrinsic cytotoxicity and ability to target tumor cells independently of antigen presentation.

From North to South: A latitudinal look at legume nodulation processes

open access: yes, 2013
Legumes and some nodulation processes evolved about 55-60 Ma. Since then they have radiated from their origin at either side of the Tethys seaway, to high latitudes in both the northern and southern hemispheres.

Expression of \u3cem\u3eRhizobium leguminosarum\u3c/em\u3e CFN42 Genes for Lipopolysaccharide in Strains Derived from Different \u3cem\u3eR. leguminosarum\u3c/em\u3e Soil Isolates [PDF]

open access: yes, 1990
Two mutant derivatives of Rhizobium leguminosarum ANU843 defective in lipopolysaccharide (LPS) were isolated. The LPS of both mutants lacked O antigen and some sugar residues of the LPS core oligosaccharides.

The Osteoblastic Microenvironment Determines the Fate of Breast Cancer Cells Disseminated in the Bone Marrow

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study revealed how the osteoblastic microenvironment determines the fate of cancer cells disseminated in bone, with a focus on whether they colonize, reside in quiescence, or reactivate from dormancy. Targeting integrin signaling may offer promising strategies for preventing quiescent cancer cells reactivation and bone colonization.

Biodegradable Carbonate Nanogels Loaded with Anti MFAP‐5 siRNA for Anti‐stromal Therapy of Hepatocellular Carcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Polycarbonate nanogels enable lipid‐free delivery of anti‐MFAP‐5 siRNA into cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAF) in hepatocellular carcinoma. In a cirrhotic murine model, this approach silences MFAP‐5, reduces fibroblast activation, and suppresses tumor growth by inhibiting NOTCH/Hes1‐driven angiogenesis. CAF‐targeted MFAP‐5 RNAi and conserved signaling

chemotaxis of rhizobium phaseoli towards flavones and other related compounds [PDF]

open access: yes, 1987
The formation of nitrogen-fixing nodules on leguminous plants is the result of a highly specific interaction between the host plant and the soil bacterium Rhizobium.
