Clinical, Histopathological, and Molecular Characterization of Pediatric MN1::ZNF341‐Associated Cancer

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT A lethal round‐cell malignancy with an MN1::ZNF341 fusion has recently been reported in three infants. Here, we describe four further tumors, three in newborns (including monozygotic twins), and one in an adolescent. Detailed clinical, radiological, and histopathological data differentiate these tumors from their main mimics, neuroblastoma and

Variable radiological lung nodule evaluation leads to divergent management recommendations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
: Radiological evaluation of incidentally detected lung nodules on computed tomography (CT) influences management. We assessed international radiological variation in 1) pulmonary nodule characterisation; 2) hypothetical guideline-derived management; and

Effective and ineffective strains of legume nodule bacteria [PDF]

open access: yes, 1945
PROF. A. I. VIRTANEN, in a recent article in Nature1, gave a brief summary of the work carried out in his laboratory on legume nodule bacteria. We await with interest the publication of these results in detailed form.

Dirofilariasis of the scrotum: a clinical case from Bulgaria

open access: yesHelminthologia
Dirofilariasis is a zoonotic infection that humans acquire by the bite of infected mosquitoes. The male reproductive system is relatively rare affected by this disease. We presented a case of dirofilariasis of the scrotum from Bulgaria.

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Paraburkholderia phymatum Homocitrate Synthase NifV Plays a Key Role for Nitrogenase Activity during Symbiosis with Papilionoids and in Free-Living Growth Conditions

open access: yesCells, 2021
Homocitrate is an essential component of the iron-molybdenum cofactor of nitrogenase, the bacterial enzyme that catalyzes the reduction of dinitrogen (N2) to ammonia.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

A report of 10 individuals with weathering nodules and review of the literature

open access: yesIndian Journal of Dermatology, 2016
Weathering nodules are a benign skin condition that usually present as papules on the helices of patients with significant prior sun exposure. They are easily recognized clinically and blanch upon application of pressure to the adjacent helical rim: a ...
