Abstract This article brings together theories of history and filmic realism to analyze the representation of the provinces in Nataliia Meshchaninova’s The Hope Factory (Kombinat “Nadezhda,” 2014) and Andrei Zviagintsev’s Leviathan (Leviafan, 2014). It argues that these two films share a typically realist attitude of respect toward the profilmic in ...

Women in space: A review of known physiological adaptations and health perspectives
Abstract Exposure to the spaceflight environment causes adaptations in most human physiological systems, many of which are thought to affect women differently from men. Since only 11.5% of astronauts worldwide have been female, these issues are largely understudied.

Noise‐induced reduction and early recovery of superior paraolivary nucleus sound‐offset responses
Abstract figure legend Acoustic over‐exposure transiently disrupts auditory temporal processing in mouse superior paraolivary nucleus neurons. In control conditions, neurons exhibit robust sound‐offset (OFF) responses, which are abolished immediately following noise trauma, indicating impaired temporal encoding.

C57BL/6J and DBA/2J mice were used to investigate strain and sex‐specific features of the brain connectome in awake animals using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). By combining resting‐state and diffusion MRI, we found significant differences in the motor, sensory, limbic, and salience networks between C57BL/6J and DBA/2J mice.
