Journal of Applied Physics, 1949The Barkhausen noise is calculated for ferromagnetic cores used in magnetic amplifiers. The method of analysis follows that used in the analysis of the shot effect. The signal-to-noise ratio for a typical magnetic amplifier circuit is calculated and compared with experiment.
