Equivalent rise time for resonance in power/ground noise estimation [PDF]

open access: yes2008 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (ISCAS), 2008
The non-monotonic behavior of power/ground noise with respect to the rise time tr is investigated for an inductive power distribution network with a decoupling capacitor. A time domain solution is provided for the rise time that produces resonant behavior, thereby maximizing the power/ground noise.

Equivalence of optical and electrical noise equivalent power of hybrid NbTiN-Al microwave kinetic inductance detectors [PDF]

open access: yesApplied Physics Letters, 2014
We have measured and compared the response of hybrid NbTiN-Al Microwave Kinetic Inductance Detectors (MKIDs) to changes in bath temperature and illumination by sub-mm radiation. We show that these two stimulants have an equivalent effect on the resonance feature of hybrid MKIDs.

Efficiency of electron cooling in cold-electron bolometers with traps

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Nanotechnology, 2022
Electron on-chip cooling from the base temperature of 300 mK is very important for highly sensitive detectors operating in space due to problems of dilution fridges at low gravity.

Projected Performance of Heterostructure Tunneling FETs in Low Power Microwave and mm-Wave Applications

open access: yesIEEE Journal of the Electron Devices Society, 2015
Characteristics of heterostructure tunneling FETs (HTFETs) at microwave and mm-wave frequencies are reviewed, and their simulated performance in a variety of prototype circuits is presented. The results illustrate that HTFETs provide substantial benefits

A 5-nV/√Hz Chopper Negative-R Stabilization Preamplifier for Audio Applications

open access: yesMicromachines, 2020
This paper presents a low-noise and low-power audio preamplifier. The proposed low-noise preamplifier employs a delay-time chopper stabilization (CHS) technique and a negative-R circuit, both in the auxiliary amplifier to cancel the non-idealities of the
