Noise Exposure Assessment in a Dental School

open access: yesSafety and Health at Work, 2011
This cross-sectional study was performed in the Dental School of Prince of Songkla University to ascertain noise exposure of dentists, dental assistants, and laboratory technicians. A noise spectral analysis was taken to illustrate the spectra of dental devices.A noise evaluation was performed to measure the noise level at dental clinics and one dental

Key Trends and Insights in Smart Polymeric Skin Wearable Patches

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Intelligent polymers, which respond to various physical and biological stimuli, are explored for the development of skin wearable patches in biomedical applications. Smart polymers, also known as intelligent or stimuli‐responsive polymers, play a crucial role in the development of advanced wearable patches due to their versatility and softness.

Facile Synthesis of CuxS Electrocatalysts for CO2 Conversion into Formate and Study of Relations Between Cu and S with the Selectivity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Copper sulfide based electrocatalysts for CO2 conversion are selective for production of formate as major product. Transformations under electrochemical conditions result in significant sulfur loss, and this study examines the nature of how persistent, residual sulfur (observed as surface SO42– species and S dissolved in the electrolyte) can sustain ...

Extra-auditory effects of noise in laboratory animals: the relationship between noise and sleep [PDF]

open access: yesJ Am Assoc Lab Anim Sci 46, 1 (2007) 35-41, 2008
Noise has both auditory and extra-auditory effects. Some of the most deleterious extra-auditory effects of noise are those leading to sleep disturbances. These disturbances seem to be related to both endogenous (physical parameters) and exogenous (sex, age) factors of noise.

Learning an Adaptive Model for Extreme Low-light Raw Image Processing [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
Low-light images suffer from severe noise and low illumination. Current deep learning models that are trained with real-world images have excellent noise reduction, but a ratio parameter must be chosen manually to complete the enhancement pipeline.

The effects of environmental and classroom noise on the academic attainments of primary school children [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
While at school children are exposed to various types of noise including external, environmental noise and noise generated within the classroom. Previous research has shown that noise has detrimental effects upon children?s performance at school ...

In‐Situ Growth of 2D MOFs as a Molecular Sieving Layer on SnS2 Nanoflakes for Realizing Ultraselective H2S Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 35, Issue 12, March 18, 2025.
The ultraselective H2S detection of the ZIF‐L/SnS2 heterostructure is demonstrated. The introduction of 2‐dimensional (2D) breathable ZIF‐L results in a substantial increase in H2S selectivity attributable to the molecular sieving effect, which impedes the permeation of gases with large kinetic diameters and high polarity.

Modeling Dual-Exposure Quad-Bayer Patterns for Joint Denoising and Deblurring [PDF]

open access: yes
Image degradation caused by noise and blur remains a persistent challenge in imaging systems, stemming from limitations in both hardware and methodology. Single-image solutions face an inherent tradeoff between noise reduction and motion blur. While short exposures can capture clear motion, they suffer from noise amplification.

Internal Temperature Evolution Metrology and Analytics in Li‐Ion Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates the non‐linear evolution of internal temperatures across diverse operating conditions, highlighting the disparities between internal and external measurements and the resulting thermal asymmetries. The coupled thermo‐electrochemical modeling framework provides a comprehensive analysis of various heat generation modes, examining ...
